Interesting...his first pronouncement was our scouting report said Albany had two players...we needed to defend them...guess we did well...only scored 51 points...JB aside from the guards each having 5 assts and MCW four...not much good in their play and defense...thought poor ball movement...not anywhere as good as Manhattan game. Thought that Kieta and Melo did okay on back line and came up with rebounds.
Now for the surprises...complemented both Dirty and KJ on offense...and said Dirty saved our first half...but...
1. Dirty needs to get rebounds...he let 6'4 s beat him and if he wants to play BE against 6'8s he has to go after the boards...and said defense not so good
2. KJ needs to board better also...

His demeanor was not enthusiastic...he was tired and not pleased...sort of surprised me a bit as we did score 98 points...but he said..."back to gym" to get it going.....he did not seem pleased with most of the players and the outcome...so much for the back slapping on the board this time around

Doesn't want the kids reading their press clippings, maybe?

Lol, you can cut and pass this interview into almost any early season interview for the last 30+ years on the Hill. JB is always like this in the early season and then by the end of the season he will defend his teams against the talking apes we call "basketball talking heads" come tourney time.

I think he is going to be playing around with line ups for the first month or so. This team is really loaded and will go as far as their ego's are reigned in. As far as the guards, I think he was talking more about the "starting" two then the "bench" two. I don't think we have even come close to seeing what this team can do. Come March, depending on the ego's, this team could be insane to watch.

Give this team the same attitude of the 09 team and it will be fun to watch.

Do you blame him for being upset when two known players score 51 points? Shows a lack of commitment on defense when you can focus on two players out of five.

Boeheim should always keep demanding that they keep working hard and if these 2 can score 51 what happens when they face 2 really good big east kids? Keep on em Jimmy, I want another title for SU.

Most coach would do the same, that's just what they do, and to be honest it really wasn't a great game by them, they had flashes of nice plays but no consistency.

The defense got lazy, so what do you expect? These early games are for development, and lack of intensity is not going to be acceptable.

against Manhattan JB was almost Giddy...kidding and pleased...not so much with this game...I believe the 50 points put on us by two Albany players that he said were scouted and we wanted to defend against upset him...not to mention the overall defense lacked a spark...and the refs pissed him off also.

Looking at the stats Albany sure did shoot a lot of free throws, a lot of reaching by SU and not moving their feet? That'll get Boeheim going every time as it should.

Fab's 4th foul last night was completely on Scoop - the Albany guy went right by him and banged into Fab as he put up his layup off the glass. And there was still something like 14 minutes left in the game. Scoop's got to do better on the perimeter. He does not seem to have hit his stride yet. He's like the only guy who hasn't had at least 1 good game so far.

Gosh, that doesn't sound like Fab was the one who committed the foul, does it?

(That was a disgusting display by the officials last night.)

If Fab was inside the arc it was on him.

If Dion was a little less violent with his strips he wouldnt get called as much. I know it is all ball but he looks like he is clobbering people.

This. They were very lazy and sloppy on D, particularly in the middle portion of the 2nd half. They were also quite sloppy on offense over the last 5 minutes of the game.

This game is a coaches dream. They won fairly easily, but there were a lot of coachable moments for the film room and practice court.
