Jimmy and Buddy

Good players that could be very effective if used correctly.

But that isn't an option getting them 35+ minutes is all that matters.

Even Marek didn't think about sticking around to sit on the bench behind Jimmy he knew what would happen when he transferred from Cornell. Quincy, Woody, Bras all knew what the deal would be too.

Those 4 guys would rather be playing for Cuse than toiling n a very low level Euro league, getting DNP'd at Okie State, bench player for Charlotte, or struggling big time at Oregon.

So the buddy is dealing with a nagging injury theory is no more? Thought his plays in the lane late were keeping us in it. Damn those misses from range are frustrating.

No, no, no. It was just a crazy confluence of independent decisions that led to Jimmy Jr coming to Syracuse, and he did not make a decision on where to play until all of those decisions were made.

Maaan do people actually think a four year contributor like marek would have played behind Jimmy?? Crazy talk. The nepotism takes post loss are always out of control.

I don’t like to really attack individual players too much when much of it is due to limitations and their minutes and demanded role is out of their control.

Jim’s work with USA basketball and overall contributions to the game are certainly well acknowledged.

If Andy Rautins got a shot in the NBA, so will Buddy.
Andy was the best 3 point shooter in the country. I understand we’re all upset. But I’m blown away by the hyperbole after losses. He could score 30 next week.

At minimum Buddy has done enough to earn a summer league spot with somebody . From there he could impress, but he is going to have to develop and show something more.

I'm not sure its nepotism. Girard gets the same treatment. Joe G is a good player who would be an amazing 6th man and a lot better if he got substantial minutes at the 2 but we had no problem casting aside a better true PG for him.

Kadary often isn't on the floor at the end of games for Seton Hall since Aiken the Harvard transfer has taken over a couple of their games I've watched. A little more flexibility from our coach and we still have both. RIchmond was on an NBA trajectory if he hung around. Marek likely could have made more with NIL than the Ukrainian league pays.

And back to Marek...

The one player we use this year correctly is Edwards. If Dolejaj was still on the roster I'm not sure hes not logging minutes at the 5 and maybe starting and Jesse isn't coming off the bench. JB didn't forget to coach or anything but these are the types of calls he makes at this point.

For the guy that laughed at my post.

Each NBA team probably bring about 5 recent graduates (including their draftees) to their summer league team So there is probably around 150 players that played in the NCAA (if not more) that get to summer league. That's a lot of spots for guys that are not even drafted.

It doesn't mean you are a good NBA prospect by any means. I am not giving a huge compliment to Buddy by saying he will at mimimum make a summer league roster.

Marek Dolezaj and Alan Griffin got summer league spots last year. Looking back since 2015 the best Syracuse players that I can see that did not make summer league rosters were Frank Howard and John Gillon. And even Gillon was thinking he might make one.

Scary thought but you’re right. If Marek was still here the only difference we’d see is Jessie to the bench getting about 5mpg. There’s no way he’s cut Jimmy’s minutes.

If marek had stayed and Q not declared for the draft Jimmy would have never come here.
