Someone will always take the job. There are only so many of them to go around. And each coach has their own ego.

That said 1, it wouldn't be a fun buyout to negotiate.

That said 2, it's all moot, Fran isn't going anywhere.

There’s a company I deal with (somewhat unwillingly) that is a complete trainwreck. They have cycled through about 8 GMs since 2020, and I was just there this week to remind them that people generally expect to be paid for providing goods and services to customers. The most recent one either was fired, quit, or died - all are options and I don’t care enough to find out which it was. They just hired a new GM who I know as a professional contact (the kind you never actually contact willingly and regret when you have to) that has something like 5 DUIs and has done jail time. Watching him arrive at the site a couple days ago driving a moped was surreal.

Totally agree that if we fired Fran, we would be able to hire a new head coach. I’d put the percentage odds of him arriving to his introductory press conferences at 49.3%.

I think we’re basically on the same page, but this thread is so hilariously unhinged I felt compelled to contribute to its glory in some small way.

If you are going to make these kind of accusations, you need to be better informed. Wildhack was NOT the primary decision maker in the Dome renovations. And the person who oversaw this process was - and continues to be despite internal pressure - way more concerned with improving the overall experience for every fan not just the "wealthy."

So Wildhack puts new seats in the Dome and he is all about money?

Dont think you know what you are talking about here. The guest feedback survey consistently said every year that people wanted ACTUAL seats and not benches.

So Wildhack did that.


The original first version of the reseating was absolutely awful and was going to be even worst for folks. But what did Wildhack do? Oh right, he enlisted help and watched and listened to the fans on sites like this and other places to see how the feedback was and made changes.

For example with the points, they put in a legacy bonus for season ticket holders to stop new season ticket holders from gaming the system and stealing long tenured folks seats.

In fact, a majority of football season ticket holders ended up in their same seats IF they wanted them.

Most of the folks that got displaced were folks like myself who were sitting in the new student section.

The impact of this was minimal.

Im critical of Wildhack in many areas and he will be the first to tell you that about me, however, this is one area that John truly listened to the fanbase and tried to do what was right.

If Syracuse wanted to, they could have made a FORTUNE from the reseating, instead they decided to honor long standing season ticket holders the best that they could while also still making some $$$$ to help pay for the upgrades.

If you cant see the difference in the dome from pre-renos idk what to tell you. I for one love going into the Dome and feeling like im actually in a P4 football stadium.

John has absolutely done a horrible job. Keeping and extending Dino. Hiring autry over a national search. Choosing Fran over bob. This is what we will get next year.

If he wasn’t an alum, he wouldn’t have lasted. Fran preaches accountability. Where is it? We have a lax player playing division one at qb and starting. Accountability? We are LAST in run defense. We have had 3 delay of game penalties today. 0 completions in the first half. Yes, you read that correctly. Keeping Robinson as the d coordinator? Did I mention we are last in the acc in run defense?
