John Odierna hired as new DC

Interesting move for coach O. Good for exposure and coaching development. I wonder how it effects recruiting though. A couple of assistant coaches work or have worked in the PLL/MLL. Pat March coached in the MLL prior to coming to Syracuse.

In the end it is not a massive commitment. Highly doubt it will effect any of his cuse obligations in a negative way.

Maybe Cuse can have a bigger presence in the league.

Possible he could bring in Olexo or Kennedy, but the Cannons are pretty well stocked at LSM with Rall, Chick, Grant (when he returns from injury), and Geppert.

They have more opportunities at close D with Kielty's injury and Epple/Young likely to be contemplating retirement in the near future (although both could stay in the League for much longer if they'd like). Kennedy is better suited to bump down than Olexo. Could be interesting with Dwan and Figueras likely to be candidates for the draft in the next few years.

Could bring in Porter for camp as they will likely need a third goalie. Curious if he'd try to trade for Will Mark. Could this also be an opportunity for Peter Dearth to return? Still incredulous that no one has picked him up.

Not a lot of offensive Cuse guys on the market or in the League that he could target. Simmons is a free agent and I actually feel like would be a good fit in their offense, but it's been mentioned a few times that he won't be playing field this year. Not sure if Voigt would get another chance. Rehfuss and Curry are still on in the Holdout List for the Atlas but their contracts have technically expired. The League isn't really transparent about how any of that works.

The no brainer Cuse to Cannons move for me is Cole Kirst. They could trade for him and reunite him with his brothers. Or they could wait out the Redwoods and grab him if he's released. Put a more detailed breakdown on FanLax but the Woods have over signed players and will need to cut some before the draft. Returners like Kirst might get the axe from Spallina as he installs his guys, regardless if they're actually improvements.

I would rather watch paint dry then a PLL game Gary and Regy Thorpe were the coaches for Hamilton in the MLL while coaching the women’s team at SU. I can see arguments for and against it. I would be in the against it category with the way recruiting is today there isn’t room for a part time job. I also can see where being involved in the league could be an added attraction

I don't follow or watch the PLL. My personal protest of Paul Rabil's hatred of our Orange.
