When it is a core tenant to your leadership and you are willing to boot good players because they don't fit the culture? Yeah, he should be able to do that. When you have one or two bad apples who are starters, that makes sense sometimes you just read them wrong. But when you lose like 8 players before the portal even opens due to "accountability" then i question how well you can judge character. I am sure red is a great guy and smart guy, but if he has a bad b.s. meter then he needs to bring on someone who has a good one. Syracuse isn't in a position to offload talent every year.
also, comparing this to the NFL is ridiculous. Those GMs dont know if they won't pan out on the field but they are well aware of their personal situations. No one drafts OBJ or Antonio Brown because they thought they were getting choir boys. They are paid what they are to identify the best risk reward and then manage the personalities.
