Juan Castillo: New OL Coach

Seems like a solid hire, clearly has a ton of experience. Interesting that he's more of a run game specialist considering we've been quite pass heavy when running our ideal offense with this staff. Hopefully it meshes rather than clashes.

As a native Philadelphian and a lifelong Eagles fan, Juan Castillo is a great hire. He was not only a great offensive line coach under Andy Reid, but I believe Andy Reid promoted him to Defensive coordinator in the later years of his tenure, so he has tremendous experience on both sides of the ball. Love this hire!!!!!

That's a mild understatement
He was a college linebacker who became an offensive line coach and then was promoted to a defensive coordinator in the NFL! He has NFL experience on both sides of the ball! Not many guys, that Syracuse could hire, have that kind of experience. I look for our offensive line to make huge improvements...especially in the areas of the run game and blitz pickups!!

"I feel like Juan never leaves the building. He's been the secret weapon for the O-line this spring," coach Sherrone Moore told "The Michigan Insider" earlier this year. "Then going into the summer, he's working with those guys nonstop because they pull him out of his office. They want to work with him. They want to do drills."

Think about this. Castillo has been the OL Coach under both Andy Reid and John Harbaugh.

Not many do have experience on both sides of the ball but I can think of one…George DeLeone. Maybe it was meant to be.
