I was just wondering if we have a freshman on the team or an incoming freshman that will take the famed number 22 when Joey leaves? I also know we’re losing a lot of talent after this year. Do we have younger players in the system that can step up and keep us a top 5 program? Thanks for answering my questions.

On the 22 Question, probably not, we could give it to some breakout player for a couple years to keep it warm, but as of now we don't have anyone coming in where it makes sense to give it to a Freshman from class of 26 or 27(so far).

As for remaining as a top 5 team, that depends on what you are looking for, if you are looking for a dominant consistent National Champion, no, if you are looking for a consistent Tourney team that makes the final 4 on average once every 2 or 3 years than we might be able to swing that.

If Max Kruger keeps up his pace he could be an option (Joey’s teammate and friend), but seems to prefer 20. Brody Powell who is already rocking 22 (the nephew of the bros) is also a top 2028 attackman looking out one more year..
I wouldn't be against that, Brody is grading out so far based on reports as a high 3 star low 4 Star kind of player, so if you are really attached to 22 being a day 1 starter and national star he might not be the best option.

2028 has a couple guys who seem like they could be potential 22 targets just looking at them, but obviously I have no clue what will change over the next 2 and a half years before they get on campus or even who out of that group we could land.

If Brody Powell is a 4 star or above (I know of him but no idea where he projects as of now), he's likely to be offered #22. I don't see anyone else currently that projects for it unless a current guy asks which is possible.

IL grade of an 85 from June, which is generally the range that is borderline 4 star/ high 3, but defiantly could change.

Brody put up a great freshman season leading Lambert to an undefeated season/state championship. Plays for nationally ranked clubs like Red Hots/ATL Thunder (spots for 3D Georgia as well). Has the swagger and a step down rip. Not sure what he will be by senior year, but the upside is great.

It’s just my opinion, but probably skips out on things like BIC because he’s well enough connected not to be at these recruiting events IL/ECD/etc usually are attending to rank players at.

That all said Max Kruger was the OJLL ROY and put up insane numbers. I definitely am tracking his progress as he could warrant a 22 shout. And again, he’s close to Spallina, and so would have that advocate on his side.

Kruger is a possibility but I also don't know if he wants the pressure that comes with it. Will be interesting to see what happens with 22 after Joey graduates.

Would not mine us sitting on it for a bit or just giving it to a junior or senior. Think it was absolutely the right move to give it to Spallina since it is what he wanted, but overall prefer giving it to an older more established player. Maybe a high ceiling guy like Payton Anderson could be a contender for it if he takes a step forward this year.

Funny Anderson jumped out at me to if were going to go back to giving it to an upperclassmen. One other potential is that this Summer SU is going to be in the market for 1 if not 2 impact O transfers for next year with all the graduation losses and uneven attack recruiting. If a big name jumps in the portal don't be surprised if 22 is offered.

True. Righty attack will be a major need next season. Any extra perk we can throw at a transfer would be worth it
