Kadary Richmond had a helluva game tonight ...

I'm so tired of this sanctimony. Our last coach was on probation twice, got divorced and remarried, had that car accident that resulted in a fatality. Everyone has something they're not necessarily proud of, or random bad things that can happen to people. Who are we to judge anyone's personal behavior, honestly?
Thank you for not including Bernie and his lovely wife.

Watching him pass and go to the basket whenever he wants is fun to watch. I think we are kidding ourselves if we ever think our coach and team will be ever able to generate the excitement on display tonight. If the inevitable comes next year it would be my dream that we could hire an established winning college coach. Not an up and comer, but a winner who will set the tone from day one and kids will want to play for because they'll get better.
I don’t think SU will pay the going rate for an established winning Head Coach. I’d look more for a shot in the dark like Fran that they can get on the cheap.

Is it a known fact that JB ran KR off? From what I recall, he was a player with obvious potential but appeared to be out of shape (unable to play for long stretches and after a few minutes in the game his production even fell off).

Got divorced?

Come on...

Kadary was just one in a long line of guys that we invested a lot of time and energy into bringing to SU… and then JB ended up disliking and pushing out for one reason or another other.

It seemed to happen frequently and I never quite understood it.

I never understood Boeheim running Kadary off like he did, given that the entire point of that 4 year stretch was to get Buddy as many shots as possible, and Kadary showed repeatedly that he got Buddy good quality shots much better than Girard could. Seems like the best way to showcase Buddy was to keep Richmond.
I too never understood Girard playing over Kadary. Every time Kadary came on the floor, the offense ran smoother and guys were getting better shots. It was so clear and apparent that Kadary should have been starting and getting the majority of minutes at the point. Also, he was much better on the defensive side of the ball.

SHOOTING? OVERALL? DEFENSE? COOKING PANCAKES?

What is the question, here. Honestly, the only thing that Joe is better at him than is being from Glens Falls as far as I can tell.

Girard should have been an SU legend. Instead he was misused in an improper role for 4 years and he became one of our most polarizing players ever.

One of several dozen things that were handled poorly in the past 8 years.

JB loved Joe. He is like family

We're allowed to talk about Kadary now?

Ya. Is what it is. We all know what the deal was.

Happy for Kadary. Wish he was here playing with Maliq on the same team.

The previous Coach...thought Joe G was was a better point guard than Richmond, when it was obvious to many of us, that Richmond had big time point guard skills and was the major reason Kadary transferred.

you nailed it but forgot one caveat - the part about how we ended up totally irrelevant in the grand scheme of college hoops - just about dead and buried - the Wyoming or New Mexico of hoops

Should have hired Pitino instead of Autry in the first place. Like JAB he knows BB and how to win, no matter the personal issues both JB and Pitino went through.
Ehh hindsight is always 20/20. Most of us had no interest in an old Pitino after having just gotten rid of an old JB. I think a handful wanted Rick. Wish we had gone off the reservation with our selection but we didn't. Certainly Pitino ended up doing well this year. It is what it is.

and a lot of us fans saw him as an excellent bridge to our next coach.
i get people think he's shady., but he a proven winner at all levels with SU ties as a number of astute fans noted. . probably our best option to transition to the future. pricey but he's proven himself time and time again. and your hindsight don't help much when you've picked the lifeboat with the holes in the hull and no oars. now you're swimming as he's sailing off to the NCAAT.

this year? He’s had success everywhere he goes, literally every year. It was a no brainer except <<reasons>>

Did JB run Kadary off of Seton Hall? You guys act like Kadary would absolutely have spent four years here, if not for JB. Not likely.

Girard also came back after his freshman year overweight and slower. Clemson fit Girard would have helped him even being misused.
