Kadary transferring to Seton Hall

How many tournament wins in the last 10 years? We have done pretty well against both G-town and UConn but that's just me and my memory.
Sadly I got poured on while walking to the garden from my apartment last time we played and lost to UConn. Was not a good night.

The straw man in this thread is the Syracuse basketball fan that is happy with the sweet 16 and doesn't want more wins.

As the narrative gets flushed, dudes are yelling "Yeah, at least I want better! I'm just holding JB accountable!"

I do. You may not. But you are so focused on one player leaving. Where he went says all you should need to know. And how dare you mock 2 final fours in 8 years. What a dopey response. Us fans live for those. When the Hall gets to another one, let me know. There record has been very inflated because we left along with Louisville, and Pitt. Uconn just came back and what was their record. Let's see how he does at the Hall.
2013 was a freakin nother lifetime ago. We were still in the Big East! What does that have to do with where we are as a program now?

I guess we could make the program sound great if we throw in stuff that happened a decade ago...when we actually were great.

The coaching glue of this program for a very long time was Hop. There is so much about JB and him poisoning the well but as I mentioned before so many times we lost the guy who was the players coach and who seemingly could connect with just about every kid. The guy who often ran practice, the guy who( fill in the blank here). It's a fair call that JB hasn't changed all that much. His staff over the last decade has changed a lot though when you factor Bernie and then Hop. Add the pandemic to not having a replacement for Hop and it highlights just how important a good staff is even in college hoops.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Woody and Frank end up there as well

agreed, but he wanted the easiest situation to walk into and display it.

dont blame him personally

beyond that, I think he found the guy who said “you be the starter, the star, etc”

we’ll see if Willard gives him the keys and keeps his word.

As I said, I don’t know if this will help or hurt him with NBA prospects which is obviously his ultimate goal (Not sweet 16s and final fours, as much as many of you don’t understand that)

Benny Williams is going to have to be ACC player of the year next season since he's being used to justify a lot of nonsense.

Fearless prediction: It will be a huge win if his stats are close to Alan Griffin's season numbers. Or Guerrier's.

why? A freshmen with a bum knee that split time at pg is an irreplaceable player, but Williams has to be all acc to have a successful year

talk about inconsistent standards

hasnt it already been said this really wasnt about playing time, and more about JB handcuffing him? I think this kind of proves that out a bit.
The JB handcuffing him thing doesn’t make any sense either. JB is famous for giving his players lots of offensive freedom. He even praised his jump shot before the season and again mid season, said it’s better than advertised in a press conference and that he could make it if he is open. I’m sure he asked him to focus on driving the lane and either dishing or getting to the rim or pulling up for a short jumper. Honestly, later in the season, JB was rarely pulling him for offensive mistakes. With an off-season of work he was gonna have plenty of freedom to shoot next year.

I just don't understand why everything is so polarized with Kadary.

Is he a good player? - yes.

Would have have helped Syracuse next season? - yes.

Does it suck he left? - yes.

Is he as good as some seem to think he is on the board? - no.

Is this move lateral at best, doesn't make a ton of sense & quite possibly a poor choice for Kardary? - just might be?

Is it necessary to try & disparage Syracuse because the move to Seton Hall doesn't seem to vibe & you're having trouble processing it? - no.

Will Syracuse basketball be fine next season? - I think so, looking forward to watching & enjoying as a lifelong fan.

I just wonder, is this strange "what are we as a program/expectations/we aren't what we once were" conversations throughout the season actually hinder fans from enjoying the season? - that seems to be confirmed daily on the board

Who cares? We’re talking about where we’re at now and recently?
Well, you care since you cheery pick 4 games with one opponent and 6 games with another. We have done well against those teams.

Not that it changes the point but would love to see the pairings on the floor with him data too. Just out of curiosity.

Absolutely...I just think suggesting he wasn’t a major major part of our wins this year is...well, it’s coming from people that don’t understand basketball, but yeah. His loss is big. Guys who understand basketball that post on this board have all said as much.

NOT that he can’t be replaced. He just hasn’t yet nor do I believe will be

Quick question team - just seeing this, are the 10 pages worth the read?
No. Theres some decent opinions and some awful takes along with the one guy going at a bunch of people. Id imagine this thread will be locked up before too long. You could just read the thread topic and that would be enough. "Kadary transferring to Seton Hall."

Though fair or not he avoided competition at better schools it seems like and not everyone will ding him for that but there may be some who think he his competitive fire isn't there. I wish him well. Once Cuse, always Cuse.

what makes sense is he didn’t really want to be here regardless of any other factor

Jameis won the Heisman and a Natty that year!
