Kadary transferring to Seton Hall

I'm not sure what you are taking out of context as I said he was our best pure pg. By the level of 5-6 of your reactions I would have thought we were losing the best pg in the history of college basketball.
I want to win a NC.
Kadary was a guard who could helped us do that.
We havent replaced him with a guard who can help us do that.

My frustration is I want to compete with the best teams.
Losing Kadary means we won’t next year.

I don’t want to be the plucky team that can win a couple of games I want to be good during the regular season and have a chance to win come March.

We are the better program historically and it’s not close.

We have become a dangerous postseason team but medicore regular season team.

Hall has been a slightly better than mediocre regular season and team that doesn’t win in the tournament.

The postseason runs are great but it doesn’t change we are a middle of the road regular season team now for 7 years.
Agreed, I'm not talking historically at all.

Want it to be? They were 14-13 this year and havent made the final four in decades? I get being upset about the staff and recruiting but are people ready to act like UB’s a better program then using the same logic? They clearly aren’t.
No one cares about decades. It's like people still thinking we are going to get big QB recruits because of McNabb. No one cares about decades except us. Recruits don't give a dick about what happened when their grandpas were in high school.

Last 6 years:
SH: 5 20 win seasons. 4 NCAA tourneys as 6-10 seeds plus were ranked 15th when covid season ended.
Cuse: 3 20 win seasons. 4 NCAA tourneys as 8-11 seeds. Extremely questionable if we were gonna make it in 2020.

That's pretty similar since recruits were entering Jr High isn't it? The tourney is a crapshoot and winning 2 games is obviously better than winning 0 or 1. The zone will always flummox people in a 1 off so we usually always look good as long as we can make it. Bottom line is neither team has had any chance of really doing any serious damage in the tourney.

10 years ago Benny Williams was 8 years old. Who cares.
so what is your comparison point because I don't think any collection of years will say they are the same as us. Again, it's a silly comment. You would then be saying someone going from Buffalo to Indiana is the same because Buffalo has been better the last few years. VCU is equal to Indiana?

Must mean Willard is a hell of a coach.
Because they go 22-10 and lose in the first weekend? Or because he develops underrated kids and puts them in the league?

The point is comparing our NCAA record 10 years ago is pretty irrelevant. Do a 10 year comp against Baylor.

You said their recruiting is like Syracuse football. We’re legit the worst P5 team in the country, yet a Willard can take crap recruits and make the tournament.

Christ, 2 wins in March really holds a lot of stock for you guys.

Man... he goes closer to home at Seton Hall and it hits the fan around here. Imagine if he'd gone to Kentucky or FSU like was speculated lol.
If he went to Kentucky I would have had to have an early afternoon bourbon to not smash my phone.

This is why the playing time issue doesn’t hold any water. They just brought in a star PG transfer from American U, have two other point guards on the roster, plus several shooting guards including 5th year senior Myles Cale. And Kadary was worried about not being able to pass Joe freakin Girard as the starter?!? I don’t think so. What is the real deal here? What exactly went down? Every team needs at least 3 good guards on the roster. either JB and the staff blew it with the kid or Kooks is an unhappy little camper who never gave Cuse a real shot. Btw, he never made any announcement about transferring and never bothered to thank all the Syracuse fans who cheered for and supported him.

from the Nj.com article:
Greenberg pointed to newly-minted national champion Baylor and said you can never have enough experienced, talented guards in college basketball. Baylor had five really good guards and wings who helped them dominate Gonzaga, 86-70, on Monday night.

“If you have good kids and you trust each other a little bit, you gotta have guys who can make plays,” he said. “You can never have enough floor-gamers.”
hasnt it already been said this really wasnt about playing time, and more about JB handcuffing him? I think this kind of proves that out a bit.

7 to 8 year old hoops fans remember the teams they like I would guess. I would agree younger ages may have no impact.

I was here that whole time and have absolutely no recollection of that talk. Maybe his mom posted here during that time and I missed it.

Obviously I was here too and remember it being mentioned but it may have been in his recruiting thread. All water under the bridge anyways. Wonder how his career would have been different though, although he had a lot of other things going on personally it seemed.

His high school assistant posted saying he was a good shooter and didn’t understand the narrative that he was a poor one on one of the DOs twitter posts.

Who is you guys? Don’t lump me in with other people because I think we’re a better program than Seton Hall lmao

I’m not doing this JB/failing program bs because, and this might be shocking, I’m somewhere in the middle on it!

Nobody think they have a better program than us, not one person has said that.

We were definitely all pretty hyped up about him when he started scoring 10+ in under 20 mpg as a freshman.

Benny Williams is going to have to be ACC player of the year next season since he's being used to justify a lot of nonsense.

Fearless prediction: It will be a huge win if his stats are close to Alan Griffin's season numbers. Or Guerrier's.

Ok if we’re talking about right now then we’re the 25th ranked team who just came off a sweet 16 berth and they finished 14-13. Which seems more appealing to a recruit right now? Not to mention facilities and the ACC conference.

Seton Hall adds Kadary and becomes a potential tournament team. We keep Kadary and we’re an ACC conference champion contender and likely in the top 15. We lost him though.

If people want to look for additional reasons to be upset then that’s fine. I too would like to be a top 15 25+ win team again. Im not going to act like Seton Hall’s in the same conversation as us. They just happen to be closer to NYC.

I wish Kadary well and hope he maximizes his draft positioning.

Seton Hall is the worst landing spot. I’d rather see him at Kentucky or Oklahoma State. At least UK is a blue blood. I would have hated FSU, though, because then we’d have to see him play against us next season. But at least FSU is above us right now in the national pecking order.
