so hes apparently at HVCC

Hank Flournory in the 1980s of Liverpool went to HVCC to get his grades up to get into SU. He was one of best local high school products right up there with Tim Green and J.J. Grant out of Liverpool. He hurt his knee at HVCC and was a shell of his former self by the time he made it to SU. Mac honored Hank's SU scholarship offer even after he got hurt. Despite basically playing on one leg, due to the knee injury, Hank was a good contributor on special teams covering kicks.

I recall Hank, JJ, and Todd Richardson in the backfield, along with Chris Jones at QB absolutely destroying my Oswego High School Buccaneers one evening back in the 80's. Probably the greatest high school backfield ever in Central New York.

Ha I smoked that kid and kicked his butt in HS, green too for that matter and my old hs coach not all that long ago gave me the game film highlights showing it and of our WG wildcats pounding those lpool warriors (he says all self congratulatory patting himself on the back!) Lol

But that was when I used to be able to walk and chew gum…….aka the good old coulda been a contenda days…..ahem.

I worked at Hungry Charley's in the mid-70s and remember making Sangria with gallon jugs of I think Gallo rose wine and OJ. The Hungries were fun, the managers were good guys, and the sprayer in the kitchen sink could take paint off. Carrying kegs of beer down the alley steps wasn't much fun, though. Corky, Marc, and Anthony I remember the best...I think...

The Hungries were the original hot sub. Cost around $3, maybe less.

Is there really any drama? He apparently flunked out, so be it. If he gets things together academically no need to burn that bridge.
As long as he didn't do anything beyond failing in classwork, why shouldn't Fran bring him back. Fran is DART, and as long as what you have done isn't criminal, people deserve a 2nd chance.

Does anyone not think that Coach Brown helped him get into Hudson Valley? That is where Coach Brown went prior to Western Carolina. Coach Brown is all about modeling a young man for things greater than football. I don't think Coach Brown would turn his back on any young man who puts forth the effort to change in a positive manner. D.A.R.T. and CCT are and always will be his core. I wish KJE nothing but the best either back at Syracuse or wherever. Go Orange!!!

You didn’t do that against the 79 team. That squad was loaded. Undefeated #1 in the state.

It would seem likely. I mean if it wasn’t connected you’d think he’d be CC’ing in the south closer to home.

You’re right I’m referring to ‘80 when we beat them at their place on tv, but we gave them their toughest game all year in ‘79 losing 10-7 at our place when a last ditch effort by us fell short.

Kinda held my own as a jr and didn’t go against green so much that game, rather gotta admit Got an education of the value of strength trying to and having to go head to head and match up against future Cuse players bill pendock and chuck sweeney, also mark berry hill and Steve corp too we’re solid, corp who ended up playing at Hamilton with me.

When I realized I didn’t have the strength and couldn’t go toe to toe with them, started to run around them using speed moves as luckily they were slow and lumbering and that kept us close and in the game.

But yeah gotta admit they were bad ass and had a great year. Was special to take them out the next year. God bless my dearly departed mother saving the below (evidence there was once a time I could walk and chew gum!)

If he got completely kicked to the curb, I would have expected him to go to a GA JUCO… not one up the street, relatively speaking.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out here.

I think Andy was a better tennis player than Qb, but I see he was out that game.

Need to add Paul Tripoli to that list.

Tripoli was the best pure athlete I ever played against, so hard to bring down and won the ‘79 game for them, Darrell smith was a stud too. Pete Holihan, was a bit before my time.

Did you go to lpool in that era?

This kid had absolute disaster written all over him from the night he “committed”. Not surprised in the least
You do know that is fairly standard for most of the end recruits coming out of High School?
Not sure why everyone reads to much into this commitment parties.
You only get to do it once, it's the same thing when people get all upset kids take all their official visits. These are once in a lifetime experiences.
Not sure how you got this kid will be disaster by having a commitment party.

Class of 80.

I don't get the "forget him we have other guys" takes. We never have enough. Good teams stockpile talent. If he gets his ish together and Fran thinks he can help, even on specials, we're stupid not to want him back. Maybe this can be a wake up call and the next step to growing up.

I get it. Its his day. Blah blah blah. I hate them. Those and gender reveal crap that kida also do today. Get off my lawn

Of course we take him back if that happens. Sometimes kids have some stumbles when trying to grow up.

It appears Fran likely helped coordinate his move to HVCC specifically so he'd be local/can keep tabs on him and so the door would be open when he gets his house back in order.

Hopefully the fact he's at HVCC and not at a JUCO somewhere near his hometown in GA is a statement of intent in and of itself.

Also hope that he does get back on track and he's back at Cuse when he does. Get 'er done KJE.
