Kyle/Allen nothing
OG is not on the TE board but makes top 5 on the Hback list

Kyle needs to show out to get any kind of draft spot I guess.
Considering he had a much better year than almost all that top 10 with much less talent around him.

Our Bowl game is a more competitive and indicative game to show what he can do.
Throwing passes to unknown players on basic plays he doesn't have a full grasp of vs vanilla Defenses that can't blitz does nothing for him.
East-West is more about he practices with the NFL coaching than it is about the game. During those sessions, they get to see how he prepares himself and his personality.

Proving how fast he can learn new plays and execute among unfamiliar players is hugely important for a QB who is not being viewed as an immediate impact player by scouts.

The primary NFL evaluations at the East-West Bowl happen during practices. Top end talent vs top end talent. Standard Bowl games are much less impactful, especially with all the opt outs.

I have no read on why Kyle’s not a top 3 round pick. What are they saying his hang ups are? I’m assuming lack of athleticism, but he moves pretty well in the pocket.

My guess is arm strength, accuracy and then the two of those things together, if that makes sense. I noticed the arm strength (lack of) the last few games. Not because of the last few games but I just never keyed in on it before. He just doesn’t have that absolute rocket of an arm that teams like in the higher picks.

Given that, I think he’s still a top 3 pick.

agree, the arm strength is biggest knock. Followed by a slight ding on accuracy. He's so accurate for us but the NFL studies these guys even closer.

On the positive side, he's one of the best QBs at getting rid of the ball quickly.

The ESPN analysis put his ball placement middle of the pack -- "His 10.9% off-target rate ranks 46th."

"It's clear that he knows where to go with it, but receivers still have to work way too hard to catch it at times," an AFC national scout said.

Moving/arm strength/accuracy are the things I read.
His mobility isn’t bad and he throws well on the run. I think the biggest issue I’d have is the telegraphing of passes as he easily could have had twice as many picks this year as he has. The scouts will see that easily on film.

Wonderlic doesn't determine success. Lamar Jackson got a 13 and CJ Stroud got an 18, even after taking multiple times.

I'm not saying this specifically about Kyle (I think he will be a third day draft pick), but for some of our other guys being a targeted UDFA may be the best thing for them.

Yeah those are the main reasons. NFL loves their size charts, speed, etc. That's why Tom Brady went into the 6th round.

Kyle will play in the NFL for 10 plus years but will probably go in the 4-6th rounds. He looks like a pear which will scare off the GMs who want specimens at all positions

Add Joe Lunardi for hoops, and I'm all in!
Absolutely, he knows nothing about college basketball and yet we have to see his ugly mug every spring.
