Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

What about howard impresses you? He looks like a game manager.
Did you watch the national championship? He basically dominated the no 1 or 2 d in CFB…he throws it well, runs it well and is big. He’s like a better version of Trevor Lawrence imo

I watched the 1st half. The best O line in CFB will make a lot of QBs look good.

He looked good. I hadn't watched any Ohio St prior to the NC game, part of my SEC/B1G TV boycott. He was more mobile than I realized.

I still don't get the Fullback/H-Back thing. It's all Tight Ends. But then there's also a Tight Ends top 10 list with all different tight ends.

Yeah I guess they fit the definition of an H-back. It's the fullback part that's throwing me for a loop.

Problem is that 'Tight End' became so popular it means so many different things these days, and 'Full back' became so unpopular it's tough to list, even though TE basically absorbed the role.

I think the point was that guys like OG can run a deep corner route now and then, but a more blocking-oriented TE isn't going to do that. Might've been better to list 'HB/FB' as 'Flex TE' and then list 'TE' as 'True TE' or something like that, but then you run into a separate set of problems because even the huge dudes are still catching a lot, just on shorter routes.

Howard is good but not quite as good as you think. He is mobile but he didn't really run it much all year with just over 100 yds rushing in the regular season. He also tripped over his own feet and tackled himself in the open field going for a TD the game before. I think he had done that earlier in the year as well. I think he is good but he does miss some easier passes some times. But his completion % was very good, in part because he did have a solid OL and great weapons. He certainly misses more open throws than Kyle did this year. The ones Kyle misses are because he didn't have anyone close to open to throw to. But Howard does have good upside if he can keep getting more and more consistent. He has been improving his accuracy. 59.8% in 2022, 61.3% in 2023 and 73.1% in 2024. He has mobility over McCord for sure but McCord is more accurate and has impecable accuracy on timing throws and back shoulder throws.

How do you know how good I think he is? All I said was that he looked good in that game.

It seems like people think any post that doesn't insult Howard is a slight to McCord. Why is that?

Interesting list but I’d have Will Howard No 1. And I don’t think there is a close second. Maybe Ward
Why because he played for the best team? Howard won't be good in the NFL.

These guys behind Kyle aren't worthy of a roster spot. He's going in the third unless someone wants him to start this year. Which is likely.

He would have been crazy to not join this draft.

Ha. That part of it was meant more for AZOrange who said he is a better version of a current NFL 4 year starter at QB.
The stuff about his mobility was directed more to you. I quoted you both in my post so i get the confusion.

Again, all I said was that I was surprised by the mobility he had in that game. As I said in the first post, that is the only OSU game I watched all year. My comments were not about how good I think he is, only how he looked in that game. Just one game. I never said he was Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson. I wouldn't draw concrete conclusions about how good he is based on that one game anymore than I would about McCord by watching only the Pitt game.

OK. You seem to be getting defensive and I think you are misinterpreting my response and tone. I obviously shouldn't have lumped two quotes into one post. I agree with what you are saying. His rushing looked impressive especially considering the competition. I was just trying to point out, that was by far his best rushing production of the season. Although it was on 57 yds on 16 carries (including 2 sacks).
