NIL is tied to their persona. It doesn’t matter IF they are playing or not.

So that reason isn’t valid.

McCord can still get NIL money whether he’s in school or not.

Anytime a celebrity gets an appearance fee that’s a NIL payment.

As we all know, NIL isn’t technically “pay for play” therefore the NIL argument is invalid

That's the law. It's all ifs and hopes. I've represented clients at 35,000+ hearings in my career. I've won countless cases I shouldn't have and probably lost countless I should have won. It's cliche to say, but you really just never know what's going to happen. More likely than not we're going to lose because the rules seem fairly clear; but the NCAA has set some interesting precedents over the last couple of years. Cam Rising allowed to spend more time on a college campus than it takes to get an MD but Kyle plays mop up minutes in a blowout and you're confident that he has no chance? That's misplaced confidence.

Cam Rising got a 7th year because his 3rd year, 2020, didn't count toward his eligibility (because it didn't for anyone), and he missed all of his 6th year because of a catastrophic knee injury.

Again they were not saying McCord is getting another year but just they had heard what sounded like some recent efforts. That's all. You have contacts...very cool and respect it. Dasher and Jake are connected as well. All three are data points. I listen to all three. No big deal. No need to harp on other fans who maybe choose to get a bit more excited by the chance maybe something as a long shot is being tried. Just roll with it.
