Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

Yeah I would wager high level framing of the bag has also already been agreed upon. You don't go on a boondoggle without knowing what everyone is expecting to get in the end. McCord wants back at SU, SU is aligned with his number and both are pulling the levers needed to hopefully get the year. You don't go to Ohio State if you don't have alignment on that stuff.

It was out there. I think he was denied and then they went back with the Ohio St backing. I might have that part wrong but it was out there that he was denied. They seem more upbeat about their chances on the appeal. I have no idea why.
I agree. Why the optimism. Unless they have an inside source inside the NCAA or they have a new theory for the appeal. I don't see going to court as realistic. I hadn't read this whole thread. Read it early on and then just picked it up a few days ago. Probably like some others.

Just speculating, the optimism could be based on having an effective counter to the reason why the original request was denied. For example Ryan Day signing off on it or taking the blame for the 5 the game.

I have no info but my guess is everyone is more upbeat because Kyle is all in on coming back lately.

I’m sure Fran was gonna back up whatever Kyle wanted to do. If Kyle was like you know what coach it’s time to move on and give it a go in Sundays or I’m not so sure I want an appeal and a lawsuit that changes everything.

Looks like everyone is now stacked up against the NCAA. Also the NCAA can’t be like you know what Kyle rules are rules. His lawyers will be like what rules you guys are making up crap as you go. There’s def a case for harm to Kyle due to NIL loss and not like the NCAA is gonna cry about having the best passer in the league back.

The best case may be is the NCAA not wanting to risk losing another case. But they'd have to come up with a new rationalization to grant the appeal.

I understand why Day would do it. And probably correct. But why would it matter to those considering the appeal?
Because he was his coach when it happened.

I think that is an issue. They need a reasoning especially when they have already said no to similar cases.

What was the basis for the Miami coach nixing the transfer of Gus Edwards?

So what?
You don’t think that’s relevant? Use some imagination… Kyle wanted to redshirt but we needed him due to player injuries…. Intended to redshirt him, but lost track of number of games he played…he was put in by an assistant coach without my knowledge…I misunderstood Kyle’s intention to redshirt that year, etc.

Is this turning into another infamous Dan Mullen thread? Or, maybe it already has and that's the point of it.

I’m not buying this. Show me recently who’s been denied? I see 6th year guys which is not Kyle. If anything the latest Pavia ruling is grounds.
