Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

You don’t think that’s relevant? Use some imagination… Kyle wanted to redshirt but we needed him due to player injuries…. Intended to redshirt him, but lost track of number of games he played…he was put in by an assistant coach without my knowledge…I misunderstood Kyle’s intention to redshirt that year, etc.
Good. If true. But hardly conclusive. Assuming Ryan Day survives beyond this year, would he if he lied about that and we beat OSU in the playoffs next year?

Maybe there's optimism on the hill because they have a contact at the NCAA who is letting them know they have a good chance? I would not be surprised if someone back channeled and maybe heard some positive unofficial feedback on the matter.

If you need to use an imaginary excuse you don’t have a case. How exactly does a player and an entire staff lose track? It is a lie that they are hoping the NCAA buys.

The Reddit post is up for last hour in CFB subreddit. 200 comments some whacky but similar sentiments here. Surprising how many morons think Kyle is 25 and been in the NCAA for 7 years telling him he should be a professor or get a real job. Ridiculous how many of their teams players games the system over the years.

I’m taking it as a compliment that they don’t want to play him.

Well Pavia for one was denied. Who has been granted an extra year that was not injury related? Kyle would be the first in history.
Pavia is playing this year dum dum. And you didn’t give me any other example.

No… cuse sports talk posted earlier today a McCord interview from November. It’s walks you through what the plan was and then what happened and how he “if I were to appeal” which somehow no one noticed.

Of course it’s not conclusive, it’s speculation, but they did file an appeal and you would think the appeal has some basis to it so that Kyle and Fran think it’s a real possibility.

It’s not imaginary if Day claims it or signs off on it. Don’t you think there is some basis to the appeal? And that was just a list of my made up reasons, presumably not the actual rationale they are using.

Thanks very much for posting. But where's the case for it? If he played only one play in five games (under the four game rule) he can't redshirt. If reshirting was the plan, is Kyle at fault for agreeing to go into the Mich St. game? Maybe. But I assume he did it so he'd be in the coaches' good graces and eventually be the starter, which he was. But then Ryan Day changed his mind. He clearly got screwed by his coaches. One could possibly put this under the category of "No good deed goes unpunished". Very very unfortunate. [maybe]

FWIW, the staff wasn’t optimistic about Kyle returning earlier in the week and they felt that the NFL QB draft class is weak so he should capitalize on that even if he received a waiver.
And so the twists continue…

And now Rickie Collins signs again with Cuse.

Yup. Signed after and extra few days. Collins really has the most to lose. Maybe needed some assurances or took an extra few days to make sure he has a backup plan if Kyle comes back.
