Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

In my non professional, non talent evaluating very biased opinion, Kyle McCords performance at the NFL combine was very good. I watched every quarterback in both groups and you would have a tough time picking anything apart regarding McCords performance and no matter what some of the wind bag/ gas bag commentators and their evaluations, most if not all the other quarterbacks made mistakes that McCord did not. Kyle McCord is going to make some NFL Team very happy they drafted him. Orange Forever!
Agree. Some teams are willing to pick guys based on their college team and regret the decision. The team that drafts McCord in my opinion is going to be really happy in the end. I hope he ends up on a team where he is not forced into a bad situation where he is expected to win immediately and can learn behind an experienced qb.

Yeah combines don't make or break the QBs. I would wager that the slightest anticipation issues are more attributed to McCord first time passing to these WRs and not being familiar with depth of routes and breaks versus his own guys or even from east/west shrine when he had the week to toss the rock with the same receivers.
GMs will watch game tapes, maybe sit on some interviews, see how McCord after is given some instructions/plays can put it on the chalk board and stuff.
I think McCord still is a 2nd round and maybe end of first round grab.

I love McCord but just some context here.

Palmer is McCord’s trainer.
Palmer has done this in the past about guys he’s trained most notably Deshawn Watson

Watson was legit before his issues arose in Houston then his freefall in Cleveland

So I noticed a bit on that anticipation point but moreso because it surprised me. He threw all season to guys before they were out of breaks. I wonder if it was just from not working with these guys as much or he was trying to have it be more tight sideline throws vs. some of the other guys.
Agree. I was so impressed with what he did all year.

Says an awful lot to tie himself to OhSt in the open interviews. Complimentary in substance to Nixon. As a Cuse fan, I think he deserves ring of honor, but after this interview, no. Respect the heck out of Kyle and hope he goes high. But I’d rather he showed legit gratitude to Fran and his Cuse time.

So I listened to a chunk of the video and would say no issues. The reporters asked him about OSU so he kinda needs to talk about it and second if you are trying to highlight your strengths and experiences, it's understandable in McCords context to include that he was a starter also at a top 4 program at one time. Now if on draft day he doesn't represent from Syracuse and stuff, then I could understand some Syracuse fans being miffed but from what I saw on tape it's fine.

I was not offended. He has said in numerous articles and interviews in the past how incredibly grateful he was to have come to Syracuse.
And we were incredibly lucky that he came to SU.
That being said, he would be stupid not to highlight that he has been successful at 2 different football programs. Ohio State just won the national championship and he spent the majority of his football time there.
These interviews are all about selling himself and his abilities to NFL teams.
It is not about highlighting his gratitude to Syracuse.

He was answering questions and the questions were mostly about Ohio St. Not about Syracuse. He has said that transferring to Syracuse was the best decision of his life. Good enough for me.

What a bad take. Watch again with context in mind.

Oh boy, that’s what you got out of that?

I have liked that fact that everyone has been talking about Jaxson Dart and some of the other guys and Kyle stuff has been pretty quiet overall. This time of year everything is inverted. The more one guy gets talked up, the less likely he goes high, as teams are going to want to misdirect and push guys they aren't interested in so they guy they actually like is there when they want him.

Same with Sanders. As much as I think he has bust potential, they way there are reports about his "attitude" and such screams that teams are talking him down with the hope that he was drop in the draft.

It’s called smokescreen season for a reason. More than anything else, it’s almost certainly about what you aren’t hearing than what you are. I’ve also learned the most true reports and rumors seem to come out in the first few days of senior bowl week. This is like 5 or 6 years in a row some key “rumors” dropped in the first few days of senior bowl/last couple of the shrine, and then somebody gets drafted by said rumored team. It’s almost like everyone is open and giddy about prospects and then by day 3 remember/realize “oh crap, I don’t want anyone to know I want this guy” and the chatter disappears…

Who was getting a ton of buzz then? Kyle McCord. Who hasn’t been talked about by nearly anybody since? Kyle McCord….

Man McCord interviews well. Love that whole thing. I'd take him in the second round if i was an NFL franchise. I'd love for him to lead my team in every way. There is very little risk with him as a QB. I think he does really well in the NFL.
