Labissiere & Briscoe

Just like UNC...making everything up as they go along really. i heard World wide Wes was a history professor there.
yep at unc it took one whistle blower for the most part. they dont tolerate whistle blowers at places like uk and texas. if that one single wb did not come foreward at unc we would all be talking that they have a relatively clean program, but we now know that likely isnt the case. if something sounds too good to be true it prob isnt and imo uks apr fits that bill. again the north is just different, just look at the sht that has gone down at uconn and the penalties, are things really significantly different at places like uk? i find it hard to believe

UK cheats and cheats indiscriminantly. The FedEx'ed a package of money to Chris Mills around the time we were getting raked over the coals by the NCAA in 1992.

There is no doubt in my mind that they are crooked now, too--but they've got very good mechanisms for pushing the envelope to the limits while still maintaining plausible deniability.

But at some point, the devil is going to get his due. There is no doubt in my mind that just like at umass and memphis, Cal's willingness to bend the rules is going to catch up to UK, and they'll have to vacate a final four [again, just like umass / memphis].

Yet another example of how ineffectual a governing body the NCAA is.
its all perspective. on one hand i agree w you but on the other hand my wild guess is uk is NOT cheating on recruiting, because kids are beating down cals door to attend nba u. now the apr is a diff story, not sure i buy their apr. just as we now know unc s apr was probably distorted:

I think they started out cheating w/ recruiting. There's still stuff out there about the $200K price tag that Anthony Davis's family demanded, Eric Bledsoe's qualifying scores, etc.

I agree now that they are a machine and don't have to cheat anymore. But there's no doubt in my mind that they did to get the ball rolling.

Right...haha

I was referring to the joke of calling you a Kentucky fan. If you don't think their team turned on each other in 2012-13 then you are not watching college basketball. Keep talking crap though...

OK, but you said they turn on each other every other year.

So which of their final four years did they turn on each other?

Did have to be distorted necessarily? All you have to do is leave in good academic standing. Keep going to class and maintain a passing grade.

I'm sure Kentucky basketball players take intellectually challenging classes.

I agree with RF the Davis thing was dirty but they don't have to cheat cause they pretty much get who they want. The APR thing has always been a mystery to me that somehow these one and dones still go to class second semester but at other schools they don't.

This board seems to be upset Briscoe isn't going to wear Orange. The staff got out of this recruitment a LONG time ago, which means we all should too.
Im in the minority i guess. I am very happy with the way our staff recruits for our system. I don't think we have lost out on a single guy we truly wanted other than Noel recently.

I don't think they're doing anything "illegal" per se with the second semester stuff--I think that they have a good mechanism in place to ensure that these kids--many of who are expected 1 and dones--go to class and pass their courses. It's like they've got a system in place to protect the school's APR against the damage that would happen if one or more of those kids just decided to skip spring semester. And because of that system, they maintain a pristine APR.

Kentucky is doing all this cheating but not one single person has a specific allegation of how other than World Wide Wes, JB's buddy, is a professor. Sounds like butt hurt a jealousy to me for a bunch of guys Syracuse doesn't even recruit. So what is the specific allegation?

"Stuff" mo specific allegation. How hard is it to say what "stuff" is?

Nonsense--I'll give you two: a UK booster paid Anthony Davis's family 200K to steer him to Kentucky. And Eric Bledsoe's high school grades were doctored in order to make him qualified to play at Kentucky.--otherwise he never would have been eligible to play there.

It is one thing to say that they haven't been caught, and quite another to suggest that there is nothing going on. All you have to do is pay attention. And BTW, both of those things have been raised / investigated by the media, not "butt hurt" SU fans. Lastly, Cal's track record speaks for itself. He cheated blatantly at both Umass and Memphis, leaving both institutions before significant sanctions were handed down that required both to forfeit final four appearances. Plausible deniability doesn't mean that he isn't guility of rule breaking.

just like you WERE sure unc kids took intellectually challenging classes a few yrs ago, but now what do you think? are you so confident now? there is a lot of similarity between how many kids unc was sending to nba (and how early these kids were leaving) then and what uk is doing now .

I thought we wanted Dakari pretty bad too at one point we were #1 on his list.

I was being facetious in my last sentence. They take easy classes.

UNC was busted because NC State fans uncovered the dirt and their was a mounta

Where is the actual evidence or even accusation that a booster paid Anthony Davis $200K? Eric Bledsoe's grades were changed the summer before his JR and SR year in high school. What actual evidence is there that his grade change was unjustified or changed for him to go to Kentucky who wasn't even recruiting him at the time?

Why, exactly, are you on this forum? To defend poor, misunderstood big blue nation against the mean detractors?

You didn't ask for evidence--you said above that nobody could provide a specific allegation. I gave you two.

Its not my job to investigate UK's malfeasance. I'm confident that at some point down the road, they'll get busted for breaking the rules--because that's always what happens to programs coached by Calipari. Where there's smoke...

Why exactly does it bother you that I challenge you on your lies? Use some more code words like red flags and smoke, they work great when you're a hater without any actual proof of your vague accusations.

You need something to back up your allegation. You could say Cal employeed a child molester and covered for him for years or call him a murderer, but shouldn't they have some basis of truth behind it?

How about you answer the question?

I know this isn't a reference to the 2003 team

A national title lead by a one and done you never got to watch develop must have been difficult for you.
