Listen we all hope that Dino can succeed at Syracuse. I have my doubts because the system is no longer innovative and difficult for defenses to defend. We’re in year five and the recruiting has not picked up, even after a 10-win season. I love our new defensive 335 scheme and feel in the next few years this will be an excellent aggressive attacking defense. We’re already forced a lot of turnovers from this formation. Once we get some run-stuffing DT, it will improve the overall defense.

If the offense doesn’t work and a change is needed, i’m all in on Paul Johnson, the former Georgia Tech head coach, who is known for the triple option offense. I feel this would catch defenses off-guard and provide the explosive offense we’re all looking for. Watch this video of his highlights and see if it’s not reminiscent of our golden years in the dome.

The very first second (which will likely be game one) of the Paul Johnson Era in which we don’t run for 350 yards and 3 scores, everyone will be calling for his head and demanding to know why we are running such an antiquated offense.

not to mention a completely new system takes a long time to recruit for.

add in the number of people who have hated Johnson and GaTech for years for the way he coaches his OL to play dirty and attack knees and ankles, and I want absolutely no part of him running my time.

Not buying into the 3-3-5 until there is some evidence it can stop the run.
The last hc I would hire is Paul Johnson.

So give up on our current offense because it is no longer innovative for one that nearly every other team has abandoned because it all but ignores the forward pass? Makes sense.

It's a long transition in, and a long transition out.

Knowing Dino is certainly the coach next year, that would mean that this would all start in 2022, with a 65 year old coach who appears to be enjoying his retirement.

What can possibly go wrong?

Second prize is a set of steak knives.

This is a troll job right, right? RIGHT? Triple option?

I will say this though, defenses are built for speed and space now. A team will develop a smash mouth philosophy and have success. Football is cyclical.
