Let’s run it back

I hope not.

He is not a good qb
He's a very good qb in the shrader mold. Not a McCord level for sure. They could do worse though. I'd even move the kid to slot. Athleticism is top

Yup, Gadsen has a bunch of catches on seam routes where he gets separation. NFL TEs feast on those routes. He's there.

I'm bearish on Allen. Not that I don't think he's a very good college back. I just think his lack of yards after contact, lack of shiftiness and lack of breakaway speed is too much to overcome his positive traits. There's a lot of college backs that have those raw materials and will be attractive to NFL GMs.
Yeah LQA has been incredible for us but I just don’t see that extra gear that Sean Tucker has. Would love to be wrong and have him catch onto an NFL roster, but he’s probably better served financially by another year of NIL.

I love Allen's ability to catch the ball in the flat though. I think he'll catch on with a team. he'll be a combine TBA.

Barron, Wax, Gadsen, McCord, Pena should all be in the draft discussion.
I think they will all go pro.

LOL.

We as a fanbase sooooooo overvalue our players.

OG & McCord - absolutely getting drafted.

All those other guys, and I’ll also include Fadil Diggs, are likely looking at UDFA.

They are excellent college players, and I’m psyched they’re Orange.
But there’s guys like them all over college football.

Allen is one of the best receiving backs in the country, one of the best blocking backs in the country, and has a great football IQ. not Sure if that’s enough or not though.

What about Wax? He’s fantastic but I think he makes more money by staying in college than by going pro? IMO, he’s not at the level of a Franklin but more so a Mikel Jones who I think primarily plays on an NFL practice roster. He to me is the biggest question.
Think he’s better than both but unfortunately undersized. Reminds me of Spruill.

My thought is that there are a ton of college backs who can catch and block. Many of them are also much faster, have more mobility, and more yards-after-contract skill than Allen.

Look, I like the guy and he's a great SU back. But the NFL is a different game. I mean, Tucker didn't even get drafted and he still hasn't found regular playing time.

Barron is VERY instinctive and still learning LB. If any of the guys mentioned go late round I bet it’s him.

Trebor Pena is an NFL player. I'd recommend he go now. Not sure what his combine times will be but he's gonna be looked at as a Puka Nakua type talent.

i hope for his sake he's gone.

Is McCord for sure out of eligibility. He's a guy you throw money at if he can come back
The game announcers stated that KM was out of eligibility. They lamented that one of years was just 5 games and that KM was only in for mop up duty at the end games. The announcers thought there ought to be a way to petition for another year under those circumstances.

If that TE playing for Miami can get like 9 years of eligibility I would think McCord can get another year after getting hosed by Day.

He didn’t get drafted because of his heart condition

Fair enough. The bigger point is that he still hasn't found any substantial playing time beyond that one games a few weeks ago.

Tucker wasn't the pass catcher in college that Allen is, but he had that skill in his arsenal. He was also a much better pure runner. And here he is in year 2 of his pro career clinging to a job with a team that has a motley crew of backs.

The NFL is a hard gig to land, is what I'm saying. I hope Allen can do it, I really like the guy. I just think he should come back to SU and work on his weaknesses. I don't see an NFL path for him this year.

Lack of speed.

LQA is a tough runner. He doesn’t seem quick enough to consistently turn the corner on his runs. Not sure he’ll be as quick as other guys so he might need to be a power back

OG and LQA have interesting decisions to make. I’m not sure either have done enough this year to be sure locks to go. I think Pena and Meeks come back with the right incentives (bag and Qb).

Fran is definitely going to cull the herd with kids who aren’t getting it and buying in.

Keep sold and deep cuts.
Meeks is out of eligibility as is Wax who is mentioned in some posts above too.

Someone smarter than me can tell me if this makes any sense: could LQA go to the league as 3rd down back and make a career of that?

IMO LQA, Meeks and Pena I expect all 3 back unless they transfer. None are pro players.

There is certainly to be some herd culling.
