I agree with all of that, and maybe if Kadary leaves it was totally out of their control, but maybe not. Hard for us to say right now, but if we're losing a high quality point guard who should be starting and playing 30+ minutes for any reason related to coaching/staff/facilities/etc, it's something we need to re-evaluate.
We tend to lose guys early more often than we feel we should, whether it's to the professional ranks or via transfer. I'm sure a decent number of those situations are stuff like family reasons, the cold, etc, but it's possible, if not likely, some are related to the 2-3 zone, Boeheim's general disposition, etc... So if this becomes an issue repeatedly, we have to evaluate that as a program and decide what's in the best interest of the program.
I will say that if I had the talent to be a starting point guard on like 30 of the top 40 programs, or 20 of the top 40 programs, or whatever that number is for Kadary next year, I might not be real keen on having Jim Boeheim screaming at me too much, trashing me to the press, or risking being his short hook victim next year. Or maybe I just want to go somewhere where I can spend more practice time on offense or man-to-man, both of which will help me more in the NBA.
Or maybe it's just family reasons or weather. I dunno. My point is just that if this happens over and over, the school/coaches need to evaluate the situation.
