I have been thinking that Syracuse has a GM who is dedicated to identifying/finding good talent for the basketball team. It has to be a lor of work. Think about it: there are about a little over 1000 players in the transfer portal. Our GM is one person and he has to not only identify the needed/necessary talent for the basketball team He also have work with the Head Coach to determine that someone is what the team needs and 1) is available, and 2) wants to play in Syracuse (who have not very good for a number of years).
If he is able to find a good player who is interested in playing in Syracuse. He then has to complete for the player against other teams that be interested in the player. Who knows what May sway a player to play at Syracus (i.e., money, playing time, school??, and other interests). In short, the GM has to do all of this for just one player who could still be a reach. Now, multiple this by the number of openings on the team (In our case, 4-5 openings). Then factor in players that say their interest and then decide to go somewhere else. This is a lot of work.
Wonder what the success rate will be?
