% likelihood of each player returning

This is why I want the coaching change to happen now. Why is JB coming back for this. There’s no way we can pencil in Benny to the starting lineup after what he’s shown this year. If Jesse is here, he’s going to get double teamed every time he touches the ball next year.
I agree. With JB gone, there's a good likelihood JG will leave too which I want. I think he would excel elsewhere in a different role.

Our parts don't fit well together. If Buddy was on the 2013-14 team instead of Cooney nobody notices the defense.

People nitpick Buddy's offensive game more than anyone I can remember. Statistically his season is the same as Battle's in 2017-18 and he didn't ever receive the same criticism here.
Local kid. Coach's son. Other factors.

Yikes. Not sure I want that to happen. Either way we are starving for talent.

another rough year
If this is the starting lineup all you have to do is guard Joe and the other four never have to leave the paint. They would be lucky to win ten games.

Depends on who “transfer” is. If he’s Wes Johnson, and Benny makes a sophomore leap, we’d be really good.

Buddy is a weapon.
We don’t use him as a weapon.

Joe deserves a chance to play his natural position.
Buddy had his 4 years.

I would like to see some change. I think Joe could replace Buddy’s volume and another PG would diversify the offense.

Buddy’s a good player but he plays too much and having depth is on the HC.

17-18 were 23-14 and defense is half the game, where Battle is miles better than Buddy. It’s not the same.

Defense is 1/2 the game (except when everyone complained all we recruited were long kids for the zone and we needed to start recruiting shooters) but did you know Buddy averages more rebs and asts per game than Battle did?

Shooters were needed to supplement the roster.
Not take over the roster to the detriment of defense, athleticism and ability to get to the rim.

The HC should recruit a complete roster.
Not all defense no shooting roster or all shooters and no defense roster.

Buddy plays too much. When Battle played a lot it was because we were hamstrung with scholarships and players quit or were medically unavailable.

There is ABSOLUTELY no reason why over 90% of Kadary’s minutes last year came in Girard’s position and Joe couldn’t get more of Buddy’s minutes.

That is the stuff you know why but you will just say how do you know.
It’s pretty easy to see why if you are objective.

You are cherry picking aggregate stats on two totally different teams, both in construct and performance.

This is not true - whether you agree with the coach or not - JB plays who he thinks will help the team win - so there is at least one reason why your scenario wasn't employed - JB didn't think it was better - he could've been wrong, but the head coach's opinion does count.

I picked out the two stats besides defense that buddy has consistently been beaten up for.

Like all threads on here, a simple thread on percent to return turns into a referendum on Buddy and/or Jim thanks to the usual suspects.

Everything is fine. This is fine.
It's not "fine" and I'm sure the powers that be all know this, just like everyone on this board knows this.
What to do about it is a different issue.

Tyus and Buddy are both good players with flaws that were too high volume in shooting for their abilities.

Buddy can go nuclear and Tyus could play defense.

Neither are Kobe.

Bringing it back to the thread topic, I can’t imagine if Buddy (and Jimmy) come back, that it doesn’t impact the rest of the roster, obviously.

Buddy will shoot 17x a game. To me, that is problematic. Not because I dislike Buddy, but because it’s not translating to a good season and would guess it would limit our ability to attract portal guys that could help.

Anyway, that’a still my question: Are Buddy and Jimmy even potentially coming back. If so, that has to impact a number of other’s decisions.

Also, if we aren’t getting Mintz, that’s a bummer.

define usual suspects? (i.e., Buddy bashers or defenders?)
and does the "everything is fine" pertain to state of the roster or state of the board in which everything turns into Boeheim referendum?
