In no universe is Jesse getting a first round score after this year. You are far too biased. In think Jesse is gonzo… he will get into the draft evaluation process and get a 1st round score. He can focus on developing a 10 foot jumper while getting stronger/more explosive all while getting paid NBA dollars.
Not many big men have his footwork… but right now he’s neither an elite run runner nor a guy with all the offensive moves. But the potential is there.
I love his potential, but that seemed optimistic to me also. Granted I'm far from an NBA expert. In no universe is Jesse getting a first round score after this year. You are far too biased.
I pay a ton of attention to the NBA draft and he's not even in 2023 NBA drafts or top 100 lists anywhere. The thought of him leaving because he got a1st rd grade this Spring is as ridiculous as the people saying Buddy was going in the 1st rd too. Think the majority of our board knows a lot about Syracuse basketball, a bit about the rest of college basketball teams and next to nothing about the NBA draft.I love his potential, but that seemed optimistic to me also. Not every player who graduates makes a living playing basketball. He went to Villanova and Syracuse. Chances are he is pretty bright and has options in or out of sprots to support himself. Of course, looking back at life from a branch nearer to the top of the tree of life than at the roots I would recommend staying in school and enjoy it, plenty of time to make money. raise a family and work for a living. Of course, my college experience was not tainted with covid 19 restrictions.I don't understand everyone rating Cole around 50%. What is he going to do if he doens't stay here?
Ooooph this is a swing and a miss. Jesse is not on NBA radars, let alone a first round prospect. If he goes pro, it will most likely be in Europe. In think Jesse is gonzo… he will get into the draft evaluation process and get a 1st round score. I will never understand the constant Buddy negativity on this board and I'm fully aware of his defensive and athletic limitations. He is our best player most nights. My fear is that a losing season will drive JB3 and Buddy to return for redemption.

It seems to be the flavor of the day more and more here. Constant negativityPeople get off on negativity.
Ok so who on the roster or currently committed will be such an upgrade on the defensive end and provide close to 20 points a night? That’s the problem though
These are all coherent and valid points...but why do you hate Buddy though. Our best player was Jesse.
And no one hates Buddy, but if he comes back, we know what the deal is - the offense will be Buddy-centric and JGIII will still be at point.
We’re 13-12, on a down turn, and people want to see change in terms of the roster so we improve our D and have a more dynamic offense.
While our O has been ranked high, that was also anchored by Jesse being top five in FG%. And kudos to Joe for his % improvements.
If we run back JB3 and Buddy (and subsequently JGIII at PG), why should we expect different results?
It’s not negative to not want to run this team back with the way we play.
Jesse getting more shots, Joe playing off the ball.Ok so who on the roster or currently committed will be such an upgrade on the defensive end and provide close to 20 points a night?
The 2003 National Champions?Has there ever been a college basketball team that lost their leading scorer and was better the next season?

I'm not saying we should run the same team back nor did I imply that. I'm always surprised that people are so quick to run Buddy off when he is clearly our best offensive player. Who is going to replace his 20ish points a night? Our best player was Jesse.

There is plenty of shots for Jesse and I agree JGIII should play off the ball more.Jesse getting more shots, Joe playing off the ball.
The idea that its a 1 for 1 is silly.
And thats not even to say you arent right. We might not be better. But its not negative to want to switch it up after 3 years of the Joe/Buddy backcourt with only 1 tourney birth
I specifically said Joe/Buddy backcourt. There is plenty of shots for Jesse and I agree JGIII should play off the ball more.
LOL SU has gone to the tournament all of Buddy's years (beside 2020 Covid Cancelled) at SU. Not much of a chance this year but stranger things have happened and the ACC is weak so a ACCT run is an outside possibility.
You obviously have comprehension issues....never said anyone hated Buddy. Asked about the constant negativity here surrounding Buddy but carry on...These are all coherent and valid points...but why do you hate Buddy though.
