Where is your sliver of optimism? Because I don't have one.
The ACC isn't going to stand still and will reload year after year. I don't see great recruits coming in and we're so far behind these other teams already it's going to take a miracle to win.

I'm just really down right now and need someone to give me a glimmer of hope.

It appears BC was looking forward to next week, getting destroyed by the Dabos

We still have 5 weeks left in this season. If we show improvement, then there is hope for next year. However if we play the same way to end the season, we may be waiting a few more years to see a Bowl.
We only have 4 weeks left but who's counting and if you were factoring in a bowl I applaud your optimism

I am optimistic.

I think this year, while looking like many years before it, is an Anamoly with this staff.

We are clearly underdogs who have no clue how to act/prepare as favorites. And I think that will resonate big time for teams to come.

Recruit!!!

QB to battle Devito and some key grad transfers should help.

Might be time to pull the plug on certain guys.

Certain positions are guaranteed to be better like RB more Adams and Howard and no Neal.

I just wish some of those early games were at home. Everyone still super cocky about the trip to Piscataway?

Yes Rutgers is still a much bigger steaming pile than us. Agree with the rest of your post. Hoping kids like Taj grow up fast or move on, team chemistry is terrible and needs to be fixed.

Seems unlikely we’ll be worse next year. I guess.
Why are we so bad this year, compared to 2018? Simple — brand new OTs and a QB who had no starting experience and can’t handle pressure. Combine that with a weak running game due to the weak OL and lack of Dungey’s contributions as a runner and you have an anemic offense.

Bergeron and Vettorello (true frosh and RS- at the tackle spots) are playing now and will be better next September. Dino should bring in OL help (grad transfer or Juco) but regardless, our young tackles will get better year over year.

QB — the most important position in football. Tommy has to get better at countering pressures, and he will. Ideally, Dino will land a grad transfer to be the starter.

The skill positions, and TEs, return everyone except Neal and Riley. Those two can be replaced. Improvements at the two tackle spots and at QB — not a lot to ask.

thank you. Three out of five new starters on the OL. I didn’t expect them to be all conference, but I admittedly thought they would be farther along now. A young OL unit can limit your success big time.

Biggest reason people were wrong about this season - the veteran blocking we lost at the two OT spots, plus TE. Devito was a vastly overrated QB based on fancy passing in short relief, but that is only part of what an ACC QB needs to do to win games.

In 2020, we will be improved at those 3 key spots up front and at QB.

I think Tisdale will replace Adams next year and if Heckel doesn’t come back we can get servais back up to 300 so he doesn’t get mauled almost every play

4 pretty easy non-conf games next season plus rebuilding GT at home. I'm not as down currently as others. I thought they would go 8-4 and it's been disappointing.

I still trust Babers but I do echo the same things here about staff. Can't run back everything in 2020. As he said when he got the job, you have to be green and growing not red and rotten.

This offseason Dino has to grow again and change. I wonder if 5-15 Sean Lewis would take a nice pay bump to come back. Would like to see Kirk Martin depart and Cavanaugh. Move Lynch (if he stays) to OL and Lewis back to QB/OC.

Watch a close replay of the game yesterday. Our TE blocked his butt off, even stood up an FSU DT.

On the bright side we still have Cisco, Meli, Trill, Black and Jonathan next year.

Howard and Adams could be a potent duo with a good o line.

i’ve given up getting excited about receivers. I don’t care about the crap I’ll get for this but I question whether our most talented receivers are in the starting spots.

Are we in agreement that next week is our last best chance to win ?
