Looking forward to next year...

Seems unlikely we’ll be worse next year. I guess.
Well I wouldn’t say that. We lose Adams on line we lose mo we lose both ends also both linebackers so we have to retrain new ones which he said we wouldn’t have too. We might be worse next year.

Mikel Jones has been getting extended run this year as well as Cantin has been getting some special teams run and I think some LB plays. Richards will be back as well and Kpogba (I think that’s his name) will have redshirted and ready to be a beast the next 4 years

Need to start to get younger guys who project to play or have an impact next year some time
On the bright side we still have Cisco, Meli, Trill, Black and Jonathan next year.

Howard and Adams could be a potent duo with a good o line.

i’ve given up getting excited about receivers. I don’t care about the crap I’ll get for this but I question whether our most talented receivers are in the starting spots.
Not going to mention any names here but you will be able to figure out who I am referring to. The two short guys should not be playing. ZERO PRODUCTIVITY out of them the entire year. That would also include the small senior on special teams who gives you nothing other than fair catching when he shouldn't or not fair catching when he should. The taller skinny kid has a bad attitude. Yes he has been open and not been targeted but when he is, he drops the passes at an alarming rate. For him to openly complain during games is not a good sign and he should not see the field. The more talented junior complains too, has good games and okay stats but has dropped two potential touchdowns on consecutive weeks. That group needs to step it up if they are going to continue to play. In my humble opinion, the only one who should is the junior. Now I will mention some names. Cam Jordan sure looked good in the NC State when the skinny one was sent to the bench for complaining. Sharod Johnson, Anthony Queeley and Coourtney Jackson going forward should all be getting playing time. This season is toast, time to give some new guys a chance to see what they have, you know try and create a spark. As fans, we can only hope. Go Orange!!!!

Armstrong is tough to watch.

What I am about to say is not to be construed as negative, but only a fact of what college football is now in 2019. One important thing that has not been addressed in great detail is how many members of the current team will transfer out at the end of the 2019 season. The rules are now relaxed. These kids come to college to play football and and hopefully get an education. They put in an incredible amount of time into the football part of it and if all they do is practice all week and then stand on the sideline, some of them may wish to look for an opportunity to play elsewhere. Some of these players such as Cam Jonas were highly recruited by big name schools, yet have not seen any playing time at Syracuse. This staff for some reason seems to be very hesitant to make changes when the vast majority of those watching think they should be made. I realize we are not at practice and don't get a behind the scenes glimpse of what goes on. We do however see the games and see the same guys making the same mistakes not only game after game but even worse, year after year. The current roster is 90%+ Dino Babers recruits. Year after year, this staff has put themselves in the predicament of playing one set of guys all year long and then having to rely on new guys the following year with no game experience. That has translated into at least five to seven games of growing pain mistakes which directly contribute to losses. If they become bowl ineligible by the tenth game, I would hope that they would be planning for 2020 and give some guys a shot so they don't look elsewhere. This team can not take that hit regarding depth. I like all of you bleed Orange and hope this staff makes the right moves to salvage this program not only for this year, but for the immediate future. Go Orange!!!!

I prefer to think of last year as the “two steps forward.” In reality, it was probably three or four steps forward. This year is the step/steps back. I still have confidence that our trajectory will - eventually - continue its upward direction

there is zero doubt T.Jackson is

K,Jonathan is going to be good next year too

I'm very disappointed in Harris' attitude. He's absolute right to be frustrated. But you keep that stuff behind closed doors if possible. You never want to embarrass your teammates on national TV
I agree but when we do throw he drops a good number. When your business is perfect then maybe u can say something else about a different player but not until them. I loved him last year but u don’t need that shiiiiiiiiit on a team. Jordan is a way better blocker anyways. Dino babied him. If it was me he wouldn’t have played for a game or two. No one comes before team.

Looks like a youngster at the kids rodeo trying to rope a calf
He doesnt step downhill at all gets blocked easier than anyone and doesn’t play at a low level. Did I mention his terrible tackling and bad run fits. Let’s keep him in though. Wtfffffffff.

Where is your sliver of optimism? Because I don't have one.
The ACC isn't going to stand still and will reload year after year. I don't see great recruits coming in and we're so far behind these other teams already it's going to take a miracle to win.

I'm just really down right now and need someone to give me a glimmer of hope.
here's the best i can do

the offense doesn't require greatness anywhere to work - i'm not worrying about the system because i'm trying to imagine what would happen in any other offense with this line. i agree with all the criticisms of devito. he will hold us back if the line becomes competent. but he'll still put up big enough numbers to get us to bowls. if he isn't shellshocked and spends the offseason truly improving (I doubt that actually), then we can be better than that

i don't think the system is causing the line to be this bad, i don't think this system is harder for lineman than other systems, so i just chalk it up to an unusually bad line that has to get better with age and strength

The only pluses for next year's team is losing frederick (enough already, he's terrible) and maybe another year of S&C on the younger OL (this is not a plus for a guy like servais, he wont just flip the switch). Other than that, it'll be scary without our bookends and another year of turnover at LB.

Recruit!!!
some of us for a number of years have been asking for a focus on where is the beef!!!! unfortunately this year may hurt us recruiting wise.
about 6-7 yrs years back i sat next to a former offensive player from the 59 team and asked him how he was recruited. i forget his name. he said ben "came out to farm country" he got the biggest guys he could find. i do not know if that was really the case but he was laughing and funny. said he envied his buddies up in the stands with girls and whatever, while he was wet and muddy.
i am not an alum, but have been going to games since 1960. yes my son(sth) daughter(syracuse law and mph maxwell) and myself are loyal su fans.
my spouse is also but rutgers first! yes i got my masters from ru 1976-- and go to games there periodically---vg tailgating at johnson park.
