he most certainly will NOT get 5mill.

i doubt he even gets 4 if some owner and GM lose their minds and hire him.

if he gets another job then yeah, i guess the move would be a win for him and a HUGE slap in the face to the system and to the league.

i most certainly wouldnt want to be the fanbase that gets him.

but again, if McAdoo gets the job...marrone can come to the NYG and be the non-play calling OC for sure.
 
Because the 2 organizations are the worst in their respective levels and are treated as outliers and generally looked upon as jokes.

Assuming I thought I was a good head coach and liked being one (I guess the jury's out), I would have stayed and made $8M instead of leaving for $4M. Unless, I knew I had another job lined up that wasn't 2 steps down the chain.

If I didn't really like the pressure of being a head coach, I would have taken the $4M and found a position coach job.
 
I think Marrone will most likely go to Cleveland if he gets a gig, go 6-10 next year, 8-8/ 9-7 year after and then year 3 will be something new for him because there will be actual expectations to make playoffs. Will he stick around that long? will he make playoffs or will be goo 7-9 or something like that and be done, that is what remains to be seen, HIS TRUE UPSIDE to settle it

i clearly was speculating based on his reputation of not being that friendly, being very football focused, a football 1st guy, 1 who thinks of himself as this great winning coach...when in reality he hasnt won jackshlit, one who clashed immedietly with his boss at buffalo and orchestrating his exit out of 1 of the 32 most coveted jobs in his profession and now you say im wrong in thinking he will be all happy happy joy joy with a career baseball guy who was just the mets vp of player development who would then his chief football strategy officer??
