SU head coach Scott Shafer is about to go on the ACC coaches' teleconference. Updates to come.

Shafer: "I think QB Zack Mahoney is probably looking like the starter." Austin Wilson and AJ Long getting reps, as TL said last night.

Shafer said CMU coach John Bonamego texted him Sunday to further apologize for Mitch Stanitzek's hit on Dungey. Also mentioned it postgame.

Shafer on walk-on QB Zack Mahoney: "He's just a winner. He's not that flashy."

Shafer said the staff talks to their players about targeting "all the time." They brought in an official before the season.

Shafer on defending the run: "Some of those spread formations are some of the most concerning to me." Harder to stack the box.
