If Luke is going to redshirt he won't be playing Friday night. The reason is if he were to play , and play well , and win the game. Then Fran would have to make him the starter. So if anyone else plays besides Rickie it has to be Belin , or Filardi.

If Carney plays well and starts the rest of the season he likely would be happy to give up the redshirt.

Have to assume qb2 will have to start tye first few weeks next year also. Keep hearing it’s a solid year to rehab an Achilles. .

Brent Axe Is a literal shark without an ounce of moral integrity, In my opinion foul is his middle name. He pales in comparison to Let's say Mike Waters who is objective but honestly cares and realizes the specific population that carries a specific weight no matter the time we live in. He is chum, BA and is reflective of current degradation of society, consistent with his slice and focus that being college sports. He is a Poisonous, non objective thermometer who reports found extremes while looking for weakness and exposing. He is not a journalist of old, 30 years ago he would have been forced out from a journalistic integrity standpoint. Let alone moral station most importantly.

Carney did not look ready in his brief cameos, but that being said, it seems everybody else has been given an extended look - why not Luke ?
At this point, I would start Luke and if nothing good happens, may as well just let Rikki run out the season.
The QB room is a monstrous sized disaster.
Going into this season, I did not believe that 10 wins was repeatable, but I was optimistic we would win 6 or 7 and make a bowl. Now it seems the upside is 4 wins and even that may not be attainable.
We cannot even assume that Angeli will be ready for the beginning of next season. Getting a starting caliber portal QB is essential.
At this point, I would start Luke and if nothing good happens, may as well just let Rikki run out the season.

So that he can have 4 years when he transfers.
Why does everyone assume he’s going to transfer? And which Power 4 schools would even want Carney on their team—he’s undersized. I get that Fran mismanaged his freshman year, but he is getting opportunities to play now. What other school is giving him chances like that?
I have zero clue what any of this means……but I agree with every syllable.

Coaches haven't even let him throw a ball, so how do we know? Instead let him pass a Williis ball up a failing middle every time. We know that doesn't work period. He at least doesn't have any interceptions for all his game time. We can't judge him or Collins at this point as I assume there all good QB's with the right play calling and coaching staff. Right now I blame it on the OC and unable to adapt with a loss of a 'star' QB. If this is a measure of a team the QB we got some long hard heartaches to come if we can't have a coach adapt to new players or work on that as a contigency.
