Malachi Richardson at Jordan Brand Classic

Sorry. Didn't mean it like that at all. I just mean it makes me think that he is not coming back. I don't blame him for weighing his options.

No need to say sorry. I was just trying to figure out what you meant. I'm still curious: Why did Malachi attending a high school all star game being played in a cool arena in close proximity to his home make you think he is not coming back to Syracuse next year? I'm genuinely wondering: is it a concern to you because there are all these pros there to influence Malachi? Agents probably attending?

Who has classes on Friday at Syracuse University? I never did.
My son at RIT doesn't. I told him that my freshmen year (cneturies ago!) I had Saturday classes! MWF, and TTHS. The Tuesdday/Thursday afternoons were reserved for 4 hour a week classes to get the 4th hour in or in my case, various labs. Sat had only morning classes but still classes. And since you were only allowed so many skipped classes a semester, cutting Saturdays was not a good option. Things changed my sophmore year. (PS, ties were required my freshman year too. Sophmore year, business departmant classes required ties )

Cali, I love you, my man. That post above needs to be archived or pinned or something.

The line with "thespian" in it maybe contained a typo, but it's still pure awesomeness. I loathed tests too, especially finals.

CaliCuse Any gut feeling whether we will have Malachi next year?

That's exactly it. Bottom line is he will do what he thinks Is best for him. Selfishly hoping he doesn't go.

I think he will be back. As others have said, Malachi does have a good support system. I doubt attending that game will ultimately influence a decision of such paramount importance.

He will consult with people, including the staff, he may very well tests the waters. If he declares, the workouts will help clarify things for him. The key is obviously not signing. I doubt he will do that, considering his draft position is so tenuous.

I believe that when you put $ in the face of kids who MAY have experienced poverty lifestyle it puts education the back burner I would like to see education as important as the$ for the players. I know that its improbable. I suppose it doesn't matter just how wealthy you are but there is a long list of highly paid athletes who went bankrupt after their playing days Having a large amout of$ doesn't mean you can keep that wealth.

I want to add one obvious thing. Malachi loves basketball. He's going to a pro arena with guys like Carmelo in attendance. It's a cool event. Malachi probably loved events like these when he played in them. As long as we don't bother him on Twitter, like some idiotic SU fans have, threads like these are fun while we get through the off-season.

Signing with an agent finishes his choices.

Right but he has not done so. This year, you can declare, work out and then come back, unless you sign with an agent, Cali.

Great post, but like John Lennon's "Imagine," it's a brilliant sentiment but pie-in-the-sky. There are exceptions, like Roc Christmas, who graduated in 3 years while clearly having pro aspirations.

Matt Moyer will be another exception. He's a National Honor Society recipient, classically-trained violinist and outstanding basketball player.

Yikes! "Back in your day"

I had classes on Friday two semesters. First semester freshman year and first semester JR year. I still somehow managed to have at least 15 credits every semester. I know some students didn't like 80 minute classes, but I'd rather have that extra weekend day. I wish work was this way!

I was in college and postgraduate school from 2003-2009 and never had a Friday class.

Most Friday classes are specialty classes.

Let's just wait this process out. I am sure Malachi has been upfront with JB and Hopkins about his situation. He can declare as long as he doesn't hire an agent okay.

Sorry bees, but I think this was the best post of the bunch. Well crafted, post artisan. ;)

No vote for Cali's post I wanted to have pinned? The sentence with the "thespian" reference clinched it for me. Post #50 in your scorecards, #1 in your hearts.

Do you think he just might be watching some of the guys he's played with on AAU or other teams? Just don't see what the knotted shorts are about.
The young man does have a life of his own. He's a basketball player. Do you want him to be at a lax game?

Wow at the end of page 4 and no one had this thought. Maybe he went home to discuss things over with his family, and then went to this game!!

Plenty of us mentioned his family; your thought was more cogent.

I want him hiding in Siberia until the draft deadline goes by. Maybe where Rocky trained for Drago. Just somewhere far away for a little while.

Rocky IV was filmed in Canada. That's perfect actually, send Mal up there to talk to Mullins' family. Okay, I'll step away now.
