Malachi Richardson at Jordan Brand Classic

I hated finals as do most students.Goingback to high school I was so nervous about an algebra test or maybe the regents . which I can't remember at this time. I had my very sharp pencils in my left hand and without realizing what was happening I jammed the tip of one of those pencils in to thespian of my upper palm. Its been stuck there since that time as a reminder of those days . Its not as discernible now as it was at one time but I can still see it,75 years later. When I sat down for the test I was bleeding which I hadn't noticed before that the proctor came over with a tissue and that was cure for the day. Yes I passed the test much to my surprise but apparently I knew more than I thought.
Lead poisoning explains much. ;)

If we get through Monday without him entering, I'll feel a lot better. My take is he just went home for the weekend to talk to the folks and others. As llandz pointed out earlier.

I get your point, Jake but couldn't he just announce Monday he's declaring but still not sign with an agent? (Rhetorical question). He could decide this weekend that he wants to declare but not sign with an agent. Then he can see where he stands after the workouts before ultimately making his final decision whether to go to pro.

My point is a Monday declaration might not be that telling as to the final outcome.

I was in college and postgraduate school from 2003-2009 and never had a Friday class.

Most Friday classes are specialty classes.

Let's just wait this process out. I am sure Malachi has been upfront with JB and Hopkins about his situation. He can declare as long as he doesn't hire an agent okay.
I flunked out of college in 1983 and I never had a Friday class either...at least not one I went to

He could...but if he simply wanted to declare without an agent and test the waters, that doesn't involve much debate. He could have done that days ago.

The longer this drags out, the more definitive the decision IMHO.

Yep. I edited my post you responded to so that it was readable, not for content. I agree with your post 100%.

To be honest, I dont even know how this is a tough decision. He is projected as a 2nd round pick, if you want to test the waters and get some feedback, thats fine, but how long does it take to come to that conclusion, it would be foolish to hire an agent.

Right, that's why I think there's a decent chance he tests the waters just to get the feedback and work out. I think a lot of players will do this just to see what the process is like and also to find out what talent evaluators think they need to work on.

They have their coaching staff to give them advice on their strengths and weaknesses, but why not get some impartial input as well?

What concerns me is the combo of him also hanging out w melo the weekend before. I mean, thats two weeks in a row. Also trenton and bk are not all that close.

As I said, he's an hour NJ Transit ride and then a subway ride away. Not that big a deal. There's way too much paralysis by analysis in this thread.

And what's wrong with Melo having some school spirit?SUball

For all we know Melo could be trying to sell him on coming back to Su next year.

Hes supposed to be in school...

I thought that one of the advantages of testing the waters is so the player could go back and know what to work on for the next year. To me the "test the waters" method would make the most sense, unless he does not want the temptation knowing he is not going. It could be hard to go just to test the waters and then really get wrapped up in all of the hype of others that are going. Then feel bad about going back. Lots of emotion involved with this.

No vote for Cali's post I wanted to have pinned? The sentence with the "thespian" reference clinched it for me. Post #50 in your scorecards, #1 in your hearts.
Just when I think he can't possibly top himself, Cali comes up with a post like that. He's our Babe Ruth.

It really should be pinned, or given more like's. I'd quote it again but don't want my genuine like of this post to be misconstrued. I literally read the post about 10 times. If someone else wants to bump it, fine. It was amazing.

And I'm back in this thread after saying I was done. I guess I'm addicted.

How about this: I'm done commenting in this thread about Malachi's whereabouts or decision-making process or any speculation even somewhat related to that.

I want to add one obvious thing. Malachi loves basketball. He's going to a pro arena with guys like Carmelo in attendance. It's a cool event. Malachi probably loved events like these when he played in them. As long as we don't bother him on Twitter, like some idiotic SU fans have, threads like these are fun while we get through the off-season.
I'm not on twitter nor would I slam him if I was.
