GG better be a little careful with some of our young talent. I have it on good word there was a parent there tonight that was not happy with his son’s playing time. And this is a kid who should be playing over someone else. Lots on this board are calling for it
Based on what I have seen from him he isn’t close to being ready for serious time. I could see his dad wasn’t happy at the Maryland game but dad doesn’t see what happens at practice. I’d like to know who dad thinks he should be playing in front of.I assume your referencing Anderson. I don't get his lack of PT either but in fairness there are very few true freshmen seeing a bunch of time at this level. Aquino at PSU and some of UNC mids are the only ones that really come to mind. That said he should be seeing more time for sure even if it's on that 2nd midline. It would seem to me he would slide into a major spot next year but a potential transfer is always a concern at this level.

Seriously? It’s pretty obvious. He should be in over Deere. I’m not trying to pile onto Deere but what has he done well? He shoots from within 3 feet every time and his percentage is low. He’s not a dodging threat. His best attribute is his finishing and he hasn’t really done much of that.Based on what I have seen from him he isn’t close to being ready for serious time. He (Deere) consistently wins Cuse more possessions as a vacuum on ground balls, which can be more valuable than scoring goals individually. He gets the really tough 50-50 ones inside more than anyone else. If Bear rode a bit harder and was a bit more explosive of a dodger himself he’d be maybe over Deere, but neither of those are happening just yet and he’s not lights out in GB scrums. That’s my best guess on the situation. Hiltz is gone after this season so Bear needs to be patient and as he will be potentially starting on the left next year. I would venture to guess that Finn moves back up top barring any impact transfers coming in to replace English due to the staff not wanting to keep Bear off the field.Seriously? It’s pretty obvious. One of his 4 goals against Manhattan was quite literally checked out of his stick and into the net

I do agree with the GBs when it comes to Deere. His hands have been better at scooping up Ground Balls than finishing in tight. Winning back possessions is nice. But against higher end talent teams we will need more offensive threatsHe (Deere) consistently wins Cuse more possessions as a vacuum on ground balls, which can be more valuable than scoring goals individually. Oh my God, really? Must be the first time this has ever happened in college sports, or high school sports, or the local grade school travel team sports. A parent whose kid is the next coming of...well, Gary Gait, and who knows soooo much more than the coaches. Those of us who have had kids play at any level have heard this a million times. Just garbage.GG better be a little careful with some of our young talent. I have it on good word there was a parent there tonight that was not happy with his son’s playing time. Tend to agree with this. If there is one guy whose opinion does not matter at all, it’s Anderson's dad. Also definitely agree with the comments above on how we do not see what goes on in practice. Anderson seems like a guy with a ton of upside who is still getting used to the pace of things at this level. He will get his shot but has to be patient. I could see him coming on the field as a 2nd line middie in certain matchups where we need more dodging, but Deere and Thomson have experience and skills in certain areas where he still looks raw. I'm not surprised they are over him on the depth chart at attack, even with Deere having some yips finishing at times.Oh my God, really? I wasn’t trying to start a fire storm. This is just the reality of collegiate athletics today. Kids want to play and produce especially when the kid is a fringe top 10 recruit. For what it's worth, the camera showed Deere and Anderson laughing and joking around after a goal in the fourth quarter. Didn't look like two teammates at odds with each other. Hopefully this is just limited to one parent.
Anderson looked good last night in mop up duty, and I'm rooting for him to get a starting spot next year. This roster right now just doesn't have a lot of openings. I with he would get some looks on the second midfield line, but guys on that unit aren't playing poorly enough to be benched (in my mind at least). Cordes is coming off a four point outing against Hopkins. Hottle has had some nice performances this year and also isn't a liability on the defensive end. And while the stats haven't been piling up for McCarthy, he's a mini-Sam English out there, playing a ton of defense, is on the face-off wings, and also doesn't make mistakes. He would be a heat map king if they tracked player movement during a game.
Last point, I understand fully advocating for your kid and wanting what is best for them, but if you are making such a fuss that fans in the stadium are noticing your displeasure, it really is time to reevaluate things. Again, I am only rooting for the players in question, hopefully cooler heads prevail here.

I’m sure Peyton and Trey are buddies. I personally think Bear>Deere (see what I did there).
Like Jeremy points out, the most egregious thing is that Anderson hasn’t been getting consistent 2nd line midfield run when Fin was healthy. Clearly McCarthy isn’t quite ready yet. Maybe Anderson isn’t either, but there’s something he provides that this team sorely lacks among their offensive players, size. Physically he is ready, strong and fast.
IMO he has too much upside to risk losing him in the portal. He just needs to see the field in some capacity

Wouldn't be surprised if he cruses the forum...dude lives, breathes and eats lax.Tillmans like the grim reaper, he's always lurking.
Imagine if we tapped into the portal this season like MD, Duke, UNC and others did. Most of these younger players would be farther down the depth chart.Hopefully Maryland hasn't entered the chat...
Totally agree... Going to be interesting to see how the roster cap plays into all of this. The one announcer last night stated that Wildhack agreed to opt into the roster caps... I haven't really dove into that yet, but I think the cap for lacrosse would be 48 players. That's going to be a big hit for teams that typically carry 60 players. I bet we will see a lot more redshirting and 'true' practice squads... where a team will have 60 players but will only dress/list 48 players on a posted roster. Again, not sure of the details, but I could imagine teams getting creative with the caps.Imagine if we tapped into the portal this season like MD, Duke, UNC and others did this season. Deere played well against Manhattan? Anderson looks like he has a lot of potential and needs to be developed. Lets hope we can develop him before he graduates.Oh my God, really? lol. If Anderson was at Maryland this year he would be in the middle of his redshirt year like some of the other freshman that play offensive positions at Maryland. Hate to say it but 2 of them being redshirted are better than Anderson today.Wouldn't be surprised if he cruses the forum...dude lives, breathes and eats lax.
