Maryland Fans turning into WVU Fans

I thought you were going to mention the WVU style rioting after MD beat Duke.

I guess in that way, they've always been like WVU fans. They should have their own league. Where everyone sucks.

B1G really went slumming. TV sets, baby.

I think this is inevitable. The B1G has the money and UVA & UNC has the eyeballs.

Could the ACC be turning into BE Part Deux?

Could the ACC be turning into BE Part Deux?

One can dream.

I would too if I were you.

Did you guys send a Christmas card to the ACC with a link to a video showing all of your facility improvements? Because Cincy did. Don't be left behind!

I heard Memphis sent a binder of BBQ and bars along Beale St. Fred Smith is set to open the checkbook...just like old times.

Seriously this is crap...just the same old recycled crap from various bloggers. UVA will not want to be MidWest focused.

Right.

But if these alignments ever get to be about money over tradition, they might move.

They already are about money? Did you sleep through the last 2 years?

I'm hoping to renew our rivalry with Rutgers in the B1G myself.
I'm not sure what's funnier. That Uconn/Rutgers is considered a "rivalry" in any sport or that a UConn fan thinks the B1G would take them.

We already know that the B1G values RU over SU or Pitt or UCONN or BCU.

If they make another move into the NY/NE area, who would be their second choice?

Unclear at this moment.

Do you know one person who went to UVa? One donor? Ever set foot on their campus? You know who they consider their true rival to be? Hint - not UMD or VT.

How do you know that? We left to join a conference where our alumni, prospective students, and former regional residents live. We aren't drawing kids from Iowa and Central New Yorkers didn't migrate to Detroit.

Did you see where I mentioned UVA and UNC? It's up a few posts.

Perhaps you'll be better off reading the ACC snuff porn fantasies on the boneyard. UNC and Virginia don't need the money the way Maryland did, and the ACC is well positioned long term athletically and academically. Even in football the ACC, including Louisville, probably had the best bowl season after the SEC and Pac 12.

doing some surfing i fear this story might have legs ( Nothing to do with Uconn of course )

so i guess these idiots cant read- espn has all but said the acc aint going no place, and have been putting in more and more money to hold it together-

its the last league they control thats a player- they aint letting it die- unc aint leaving duke and nc state nor is virginia leaving vt- also carolina mafia have a great thing going ,move to the big and your just another out of place program like maryland or the joisey girls

anyone who thinks maryland rutgirls are now riv@ls is so stupid they are dead or should be put down for the sake of humanity-

I think of the ACC as an undervalued bluechip with steady, growing income...the B1G as an overvalued bluechip subject to changing pricing models

The issue with the B1G is that they have the money but future demographics are against them.

A move like this would be pretty huge for them. I can see why they would push hard for it.

It will come down to money. Everyone has a price. Even UVA and UNC.

I would like to volunteer my services for a site inspection by the ACC and the (un)Official ACC TailGate Guide.

You state facts but you fail to realize that the ACC has the stats already. They already have the growing population and teh fanbases are moving to them, not away from them. Translation, the UM and tOSU fans will adopt UVA and UNC and FSU and Clemson, whichever team is most local to their new retirement house. There is no need to join the B1G to get these fans.

As for B1G money, it has not yet materialized just like the ACC network. When one materializes, you may have a better argument, but until then, the Money is not there.

As for UVA fans enjoying playin Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota, probably won't travel well. Cannot see Clemson, FSU, Miami and GATech rushing to buy tickest to Indiana and Illinois, either. Similar to the same rush that did not transpire for FSU and (enter a 1/2 dozen other ACC schools) lloking to playing in Lubbock, Stillwater, Ames and little Manhattan.
