I don't disagree with what the point being made but if Naheem McLeod is the hopeful answer to some of your basketball team's problems... you're in trouble.

Can try to hide him in a zone but you're likely getting high/lowed to death and/or giving up corner or wing threes when you overhelp when you try to take the low post away when offenses drag him to the foul line.

He and Eddie can’t be in the floor at the same time. Both play too much below the rim.

I can’t reiterate how much I think we need Naheen to get minutes each half.
agree against most teams, but not yesterday. Lumpkin could not defend the perimeter and Naheem would have been worse. Eddie sat deep into the second, playing small ball without him. we found out in the last 10 minutes (at least this game) Davis and Lumpkin can play well together.

i think we haven’t seen enough of Petar and Eddie together to know yet.

Petar seemed a little nervous Yesterday

Agreed, if you’re in man. But 2-3 minutes of zone or pressure is what I’m looking for.

naheem will play but lemoyne has bigs that can stretch defenses so he didnt this game

Petar is a good combination with Donnie or Davis. Too slow paired with Eddie.

I liked what I saw of him. I'm a sucker for dudes who give great effort.
Loved it too. I especially liked his attempt to rip the ball away in the 1st half on that held ball, made even sweeter when Devo immediately said he loved Petar after that play.

Lampkin**

Lampkin is only able to play 25-28 minutes, and really able to give maximum effort 4 minutes at a stretch.

McLeod should be out there whenever Lampkin needs a rest.

If Red has really determined McLeod can't defend in man to man, then zone and press for the 2-3 minutes at a time when Lampkin is resting.

Putting undersized guys who have never played center is why we had a layup parade against a lowly team like Lemoyne.

They shot 70% on two point shots!

There is no layup parade with the Highlander out there.

the layup parade is because the staff doesn’t know how to teach help defense. Highlander would only somewhat mask the problem while creating other deficiencies elsewhere. Anyone who has played organized basketball at any level should be very frustrated with this X's and O's failure going on year 3 now. Even if red is completely inexperienced at leading a team, there's just no excuse for what we're seeing on that side of the floor.

Fair enough... A better defensive scheme would help even more than having the Highlander on the floor. We really need better perimeter hedging and double teams to prevent dribble penetration. There is so much everybody was doing wrong out there on defense.

But, putting Davis or Freeman at center for extended periods makes the problem that much worse. How much practice time do you think those guys have gotten at center? If the center doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing, it makes everybody out of whack.

The presence of McLeod would ease a lot of the defensive problems.

I feel like Lampkin is going to play around 20 minutes, maybe a bit more. He's going to commit fouls on defense, and we have 4 other guys who can play the 2 big man positions. We also have a lot of other offensive options.
