He's on year 5 too right? That is the ultimate rebuild. Wonder what job he's waiting for?

Honestly at this point wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed. Something to be said of the job security he has built there. I know he’s been approach about jobs the last two cycles and turned them down. Can’t remember which schools but historically better than isu. He’s proven they can compete in the big 12.
im sure there is a situation that would get him to leave but I also wouldn’t be surprised if he is content with the cyclones.

Reminds me of Bill Snyder at Kansas State. Retired but never left. Now the stadium bears his name. Great situation for a family. Money is not everything especially after a certain point, which he has already reached.

I see Campbell only leaving for the following:
Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, NFL.

Purdy should return and raise his stock. He has the best RB in college football coming back. That league doesn't look too intimidating. I'd stay one more year.

I think he stays one more year there and heads for the NFL.

Here in Iowa he sees what Kirk has done a couple hours away. He sees first hand the security a job like that can have, and the fans are top notch at both Iowa schools. I am not saying he isnt going to leave, but he has already stayed longer than most thought he would.

or Campbell did.

Could be, but typically a rising coach who even takes an NFL interview obviously has the itch. And there are only 32 precious jobs, it's too risky to wait for the perfect one.

But maybe he took some time, talked to the family, and realized he has a pretty good gig where he is.

exactly and maybe he realized it was the Jets;)

I feel like that’s one job there might be very little upside. Some jobs you can take, not have a great record and still rebound to another CFB or NFL position. 5 yrs or less at the Jets might wear out all the “rising/current star” feeling that Campbell has attached to his name.

Jets are going to be a hot mess as long as the Johnson’s own the team. They make horrible decision followed by horrible decision. Who the heck else fires their GM AFTER the draft? Wouldn’t you want your new GM to have input into the draft?
