What is he doing? Someone from the school needs to step in and save Matt from himself.
No! This is the only entertainment to fall into our lap this season. Fire away Matt, don’t let those cheapskate townies get the last word. If we’re lucky maybe even JB will join the fun at the next call-in show.

...We expect to make the tournament and go to the sweet 16 on a regular basis with an occasional FF mixed in...
Good points.
But I think the expectations were a little different.
Until the past few seasons we thought we'd have a shot at getting to the Final 4 every year.
Not that we'd do it...but always a shot.
Not any more...notwithstanding the '13 and (especially) the '16 runs.

It fluctuated. Through much of the '90's those weren't the expectations. After we lost to Indiana we expected it from '87-88 thru '90-'91. Once Owens left and we had the first round of sanctions, I think the expectations changed for a while. Even the '96 run was unexpected. But it was always a given that we were in the tournament (even during the occasional years we weren't) until recently.

I’m with you. I’m younger but once things open up I’ll be the first one there. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest. I’ve sat inside and watched the last year of my life pass me by and I never want to do that again. Once I vaccinated and things are open I’ll be living life the best I can.
Be very careful friend. My doctor pointed out that after the 1st vacation, it takes about 12 days for the body to build antibodies. He said that after Israel vaccinated the whole country, there was a serious spike in covid infections. Apparently people thought it was ok to go right back to normal, no masks, no social distancing, nothing. No so

We should all have the same expectations, from Duke to Dixie St? Sounds like socialism comrade.
I feel like Dixie State just suddenly appeared out of nowhere. It sounds like it would be a place where the most popular major is Confederate Studies, but it's in Utah.

Heck yes it is. St. George. Fun town.

Dixie State has been around for a long time as a college, but it became a legit 4 year University just back in 2013.

My wife's sister got expelled from there. Good times.

Great post IMO.

I've always been a big JB fan as well, however, in my view, JB didn't put SU on the map. SU made it to the final four in '75, prior to JB at the helm. In my opinion, what really put SU on the map (nationally) first and foremost was the advent of ESPN, the Big East Basketball conference and the Carrier Dome. JB, as any good coach would do, took advantage of those significant benefits/positives and rode the wave to the hilt. It really was the perfect storm, so to speak, that launched SU hoops into the stratosphere.
Back in the day JB was criticized as being a good recruiter but a mediocre coach. Jim started to get some coaching props when he went zone. Its why i believe he stays with it as it is has come to define him and the program.
Roy was a great coach. What he accomplished with Roys Runts was special. So yes SU basketball was well established before Jim who has taken us to an elite level. Now its time to renew the program and get back to the level that we used to be at. 7 seed at worst. Top half of conference. Top 20 or better recruiting class.

The first thing I thought of was Catherine Bach.

I don't mean to pile on the guy, but whatever came of Park's drunken joyride in South Carolina a few years ago?

Was that just swept under the rug?

Bad post.

I think it's a great venue - even if the place is empty.

I'm continually amazed at what people will complain about.

If I want good food without cooking, I go to a restaurant, not a college sports game.

If I want a nice clean bathroom, I stay home, not go to a college sports game. And it's not like Dome bathrooms are the equivalent of a gas station stop along I-81 in northern PA.

The Dome is great, and they're making it better. Can't wait to step inside again.

If you go to games at other sports venues, you come home to the Dome (every time, I might add ...) and I say to myself, "why couldn't the Dome be more like this?" Every time. The Dome has all the charm of an airplane hangar.

Of course, I haven't been there since the new overhead scoreboard and the enhancements were put in. I haven't been inside with the new roof. Maybe it is amazing now.

But when I go to other place, they can have actual seats with cup holders, pretty good food at the concessions, wide open hallways, and plenty of places to go to the bathroom. Is that so much to ask, if you're going to pay $50-100 to see a game?

Sight lines in the Dome are usually excellent, especially in the upper level, and you are very close to the field for football. So those are the main positives.

I will be excited for Phase 2 to be completed.

Have you been to Clemson's football stadium?

To answer your question, I googled the article. He was basically suspended for 2 games. Brian Higgins filled in for him vs Clemson and NC State after it happened as well as hosted Syracuse Sidelines and Shafer's weekly show.

Why? Seems like kind of a big deal?

He was suspended for at least 3 games (2 football and 1 bball). What else do they need to do?

randomly bring this up 7 years later? Should they make an announcement before each game that he was arrested for DUI?

what does it even mean that it was swept under the rug?

I would agree with this if you are talking professional venues, but most college venues I have been to have the same issues the Dome has, some much worse.

I didn’t know he was suspended. Got it.

Agreed.

I always enjoy visiting the Dome and can't wait to see the renovations.

For me, it's still the best football venue I have ever experienced.

There’s lots of people who have DUI’s working professional jobs. Heck I have multiple friends with them. I get it’s terrible, but I’m sure a lot of message board posters have done dumb sht in our lives.
