Memo to Illinois board mods

It saddens me to admit that the Illini unis often look more like Syracuse than ours do
thats because there based off our previous line of uniforms. they just dont have that stupid font.

Anyone else think his Twitter post hashtag #famILLy was a shot at Dino? If so that was pretty rough.

Another team, another conference.

Kind of surprised by this move. Just my opinion but if he still has pro aspirations, I always thought he'd be better off going the FCS route where there would be an easier path to starter, he could build up his confidence again, and potentially put up video game numbers. Go to a JMU or Delaware. You're close to home and can have family support, etc. and you're not constantly running for your life playing for another major conference tin can.

Those schools don’t get to that level by being desperate for QBs. Somewhere like NDSU there is typically a backup that might be better than the starter.

Illinois wins games in their league.

5-7 team.

Beat pedo st, nebby, Minnesota, and northwestern and lost by less than a TD to buttgers Purdue and Maryland.

He’s not dropping down in terms of competition and their 5-7 is better than ours. (Not by that much.) Of course if he does well there he should get a look from the NFL.

Peters has been in college for a decade I wonder if he has a claim to a redshirt for another year? Doubt it. Sitikowski isn’t good and had surgery on his throwing arm. Devito found a good P5 spot where he should be the starter. I don’t think there were many decent P5 programs that he could have transferred to and been expected to start week 1 he found one.

i was at the minn. game that was a big upset illinois was a 14 point uderdog. they threw the ball 9 times that game, but they were running the ball at will, but im sure they had no trust in their qb as well.

Peters ended the season as the starter and he was a grad transfer, so he is done.

I think Sitkowski, a guy Tommy fought for recognition with in NJ in HS, was the starter at the start of the season, and he played pretty well but he got banged up (Illinois had a really crappy OL; he got sacked a lot) and was lost for the season. He is so messed up I do not believe he is going to be able to play spring ball.

So Tommy has a chance to shine in the spring if he plays well and stays healthy.

It will be interesting to see which QB wins the job. IMHO, Tommy made a remarkably awful choice in that Illinois has no OL whatsoever. If he is able to win a starting position, he is going to have no time to throw. And we all know what happens in that scenario.

I do genuinely wish him luck there. He was a good teammate and gave great effort while he was here. to support his teammates even after he was benched.

That is all I can ask as a fan.

Peters was highly touted out of a high school near me on the west side of Indianapolis (Avon) and signed with Harbaugh at Michigan

Things didn’t work out there and has moved on, although I’m not a fan of Tommy I think he’s better than Peters.

As others have said surprised he went to Illinois with the pounding the rock scheme of Brett B.

Bielema always has a good Oline and run game, I'm sure he'll have them up and rolling with transfers and guys already on roster.

As bad as Tommy was I think he can be half decent college QB, essentially a game manager with a good arm who can have a couple scripted deep plays a game. Everything else should remain basic for him.

Will be interesting to see how he does, maybe he picked the Illini as it is far away from dad and he can do his own thing there.

I’m interested in what the situation at Illinois is and how he projects to do there. If you aren’t, you aren’t. *shrug

Out of curiosity I checked the PFF grades for their blocking. Granted the B10 is better comp than the ACC. Illinois pass blocking was a little better than ours (not saying much) and their run blocking was a lot better.

So yeah...Illinois board: you will soon have a new poster who will be doing a lot of "analysis" on your offensive linemen. And receivers. Congrats on Tommy but it's a 2 for 1 deal.

And that will be my last post pertaining to the Illinois QB.
Make sure the coaching staff has the latest version of PowerPoint installed too.

I just checked sacks and Illinois gave up 22 while we gave up 38.

Where’d all the “ain’t going to be P5” guys go?

Him and Taj might have gone to the 2 P5 teams that throw the football the least.

But this is a good landing spot and he shouldn't have a problem winning the starting job.

I don’t care where Tommy ends up but are you bragging because he’s going to a team with the exact same losing record as us?

Because just like he was the ultimate Shafer cheerleader he’s also the ultimate TD cheerleader.

My take on his commitment. Illinois is another struggling p5 team. They run the ball more than anything. They played another struggling former 4 star QB from Jersey. He comes back next year (if healthy) and he will compete with Tommy. I think Tommy is better than Sitkowski so I like his chances..

I would have liked to see him go to Kent st or some other G5 team. Maybe his ego and pride got in the way? Tommy chose the only P5 school that gave him the best chance to start instead of going somewhere where he can possibly put up big numbers. It’s a risk but I wish him well. I think the run, play action pass game suits him well. It’s complimentary football. If Illinois can get some Wr’s to step up Tommy can have a decent to good year.

He’s a triangle floppy thin crust pizza kid living in a deep dish pizza casserole world now.
Poor kid may not eat "pizza" (lie) for a year... That's pizza purgatory. I couldn't blame him. ;-)

It's Neopolitan first(extremely difficult), NY Style a WELCOME adored 2cnd, and all the rest are fails...

I fully hope, and EXPECT Tommy to have a GOOD year. Rooting for him 100%. Gave everything. Should it go the other way, and a certain poster blame the casserole? No way I wouldn't have his back. That's Cruel and unusual punishment. Great pizza is one of life's joy. Sorry Illi... Find someone that can actually make a pizza. For those of us that love PROPER pizza? Jon Stewart says it better than me. Get that kid an actual pizza.

*My only disagreement with Stewart is that Kraut is acceptable on a proper NY dog...

My brother ran a pizza shop in the Catskills. Cut the pizza in strips like Twin Trees and other places up here.

People absolutely lost their friggin minds because of how he sliced it. It was hysterical to watch customers melt down over the way it was cut before they even tasted it.
