Miami postgame

Awesome game! I want to know which one of you were sitting in front of me looking up “drop kick” on Wikipedia when we had the ball 1st and Goal in the 4th quarter?

LGO!

Meatheads think it's easier to get a quick stop after kicking than turning it over on downs
I actually kind of get it. He turned us into a 3 down running team vs a 4 down McCord passing attack had we gotten it back tied. Our oline showed a lot today that they hadn't prior and they weren't stopping McCord anymore at that point. Kyle was just going to keep working 29 up and down the field to Meeks, Pena, or Allen

Slugfest is an interesting term for the game we just watched.

I was exhausted watching it and not bored stiff. To me a slug fest isn’t a defensive game, it’s trading TDs not punts. It’s a Marvin Hagler Thomas Hearns fight.

We didn't have to do that. Honestly, I still wanted Syracuse to throw because I thought that was their best shot at it. They cinched it with mccord quickly getting it to a wr, great call

Truly an absolutely special regular season. It actually makes me emotional lol. McCord just had the best single season a QB has ever had here. An awesome offense. A defense that struggled and would bend but not break at important times. 9-3 regular season. 3 ranked wins, with a top 10 win to top off the regular season. Oh yeah and that was all with a first time ever head coach. I’ve been critical of the staff at times, especially with the defense. But hats off to Fran, man. What an absolutely special season. With Fran at the helm it just feels different. It truly does. I think this will be the new norm with Fran. Great game to have a zillion recruits at lol

Fran bets big on himself, and he wins.

I mean, you gotta get a stop either way. If you get stopped, a td only ties the game. If you kick it, a td wins the game.

if you score, you still gotta get a stop so you can try to win.

Do you think we change our play calls if it’s tied?

How about if we on our 9 yard line?

They put their D in the worst possible spot. Down 4 and fighting the clock

The ACC tried to turn the game in the first quarter, but our boys said screw that and won despite what the ACC wanted.

Hell ya!

Gotta admit--there was a lot on the line for Miami and perhaps the ACC.

Dreaded a phantom call. It never came.
Clemson got those calls at home, with their season on the line. Twice.

That's kind of the point... everyone That's watched Syracuse this year trusts McCord as play maker vs us rushing for 2 first downs to kill the clock. It was a gamble either way but I think they played the better odds. Bet our coaches used that too to the oline heading out there "look, they don't think you can run block them. you gonna prove them right or show em otherwise?"

I’m so flippin’ happy.

Happy for the players who come back because they believed in Fran.

Happy for Fran because he *pursued* the job at Syracuse.

Happy for the staff that managed to fix a lot of issues we saw over the course of the season.

And happy for US. Folks on this board are the diehards who’ve followed this team through the worst of times. We earned this.

It’s great… to be… an SU Orangeman!

I've been a fan of Syracuse for a long time but tonight I became a lover! Congratulations on this historic win and memorable season with a head coach who is going to continue achieving success for your program. I hope all Orange supporters have the happiest of holidays and a fantastic finish enjoying a bowl win...
And happy we got you a nice holiday gift of an ACC championship game. Good things come to nice people who come on here and say things like you just did. Clemson fans are always very classy.

I made a post early in the season, maybe pre season about seeing how the team would respond to adversity. We’ve seen many Orange teams fold over the past few years at the sight of adversity. All the credit in the world for not giving up when it was 21-0 and pulling this one out.
