Miami postgame

I made a post early in the season, maybe pre season about seeing how the team would respond to adversity. We’ve seen many Orange teams fold over the past few years at the sight of adversity. All the credit in the world for not giving up when it was 21-0 and pulling this one out.
We've seen many teams fold at the thought of not having a false start...

Wow ESPN gave us the D squad announcers.

I'm sure they're nice people.
ESPN thought this would be 45-3 blowout favoring Miami and most people tuned to other channels after end of the first quarter or half time.

I thought the jet sweep was a terrible call. Glad it worked!

Going to watch the replay now while enjoying a nice steak.
I disagree.. and here is why.. all game long we were running North to South.. We had Pena in motion a ton and we had not shown that play to them yet.. last drive they couldnt stop LQA and started to bunch the box... It was a perfect call with great execution... Nixon is one of the best OC's in the country

Totally agree. Nixon has been fantastic all year.

Under-rated heroes on the OL today. Miami has an athletic defensive line, and was expected to be a huge challenge. We only gave up 2 sacks all game. Big factor in our victory.
A few days ago I was looking at the conference-only sack stats to set my expectations. We couldn't hang with Pitt's DL, and that's why that game went the way it did. Miami's DL is good, but their numbers weren't up there with Pitt's, so I figured we had a chance to win in a shootout.

If Fran can start landing some OL recruits, there's no reason we can't pull a very good QB in the portal. We've got the WRs, great OC, you get to play half your games in a Dome, you get to show your stuff against some tough opponents. Imagine pointing to what McCord did this year, those factors, and an upgraded OL. Why not Cuse?

Oh hell, I'm greedy. If Willis doesn't fumble, we blow these pus$$$es out tonight.

That was a bummer for him. He had just made a hard azz 10 yard run. Really did have good control of the ball and wasn’t careless the other kid just made a good play. Willis didn’t go back in the game and he was 3 for 20 at the time; punished a kid on an earlier run. His future is bright.
