I think the reason they don't want to fire him now is because it serves no real purpose. Do you see an ass't on the staff that you think, now there is an improvement? We have 11 games left plus the ACC tournament game. The time will pass fast enough.

It would also be talked about nationally and bring negative attention to the program for no reason.

I don’t know how any fan of SU sports can ever say something can’t get worse. It absolutely can get worse.

We could fire Red now and have half the team walk away from the program. We could lose every game from here on out. We could have parents going public for 6 weeks trashing the program.

It can ALWAYS get worse. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong to fire him now. It’s just means it can 100% get worse b

We aren't winning more than 3 or 4 games the rest of the way at best. Make a change you may spark something. The parents are already trashing the program lol.

I get that people want to blame Wildhack…but this is 1000% on the BOT. The problem at Syracuse has been for AT LEAST FORTY YEARS we have people on the board who think they are more qualified to run a college athletics department than our AD. We are fortunate Wildhack has stayed around to try to manage through a disaster of a structure at Syracuse. There’s a reason why Coyle peaced out so fast - some of it was wanting to get to the Midwest….a lot of it was him realizing Syracuse University is a dumpster fire.

No matter how bad you think Wildhack is - when he leaves I expect it will get much, much, much worse. Nobody with any other options is going to want to hop on and conduct this trainwreck of an organization - we’re going to long for the good ole days of the competence and professionalism of Gross.

yeah the guy who hired Robinson and Shafer and allowed the dirty deeds that caused us to lose Fab for the NCAAs and overpaid his buddies the Jensen brothers to coach tennis who flew in from LA every week to coach the team, they didn’t even bother to live here when they were the coaches. It’s about sending a message of accountability. Balancing the season from it is a bonus not expected.

Interview the assistant coaches. Find out what each one would do and how to elevate play and win games and give them the job for the year.
Frankly someone on the staff has to be a better game coach than Red.

And see if they can get the players to buy in, make changes and try to win.
Thats not going to happen with Red.

As a season ticket holder, I deserve a better product than what I have endured the last two years.

And frankly it is all the more painful after how we saw the football team quit mid year.
I have been a season ticket holder for 30 years and that was excruciating.

I will always believe they should have hired Gerry instead of Red.

You know, Syracuse has not hired a coach on the open market in around 75 years in hoops.

In football, it has mostly been in-house promotions, too, until GRob.

And then after him, they went with an SU guy, and another in-house promotion of an assistant after he left.

Gerry is not remotely qualified for this job. Maybe in 5-10 years, but not at all right now.

We need a grown up coach who has succeeded at a couple different places, and has a solid history.

We don't need a flash in the pan guy who has been a head coach for only a couple years. We don't need anybody else's assistants.

WE NEED REAL COACHING.

All great examples of the competence and professionalism I referenced…and my prediction is that the person who follows Wildhack will be worse than that.
