I don't understand how power conferences simply don't get rid of these guys.
I assume they pay the most -- there must be some younger prospects from other conferences that you could try out. They could not be any worse. If they suck, try again with a new one.
Its not like NCAA refs are part of a union like MLB, NBA, NFL or NHL, where it is a little harder to dump somebody. These guys are simply contractors - stop hiring them for your games.
