Movies to watch during lockdown?

One for your wife - Casablanca
That's one for everybody...one of the all-time great movies.

I'm going back even further the rest of the week...
starting with one of the greatest comedies ever.
Duck Soup...the Marx Brothers classic from1933.

Followed by more recent but still old gems:
Blazing Saddles
Wayne's World (the first one with Tia Carrere in that red dress)
and Borat.

Glory has been one of my favorite movies since it's come out. My other favorites have changed, but it's always stayed with me. Love that movie.

Some others that I personally enjoy:
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Roadhouse
Point Break (original)
True Romance

I can watch all of them on loop.

Separately, my guilty pleasure of late 90s/early 00s romcoms:
10 Things I Hate About You
Can't Hardly Wait
She's All That
It doesn't get. Much better than.denzel and Morgan Freeman in the same movie.

2 great "guy" movies starring Robert De Niro if you haven't seen them. I must have watched these 15 x each:

The Score
Ronin

Both of these are heist movies and I believe can be found on Amazon/Netflix

Another good "guy" movie about the war on the Mexican drug trade: Sicario

Of course you have the staple standbys like Remember the Titans, Terminator 2, and Shawshank Redemption

Something fun to watch with your wife: Pitch Perfect and Mean Girls

I watched Big Time Adolescence today. Not the greatest movie and Pete Davidson is a douche but I found it entertaining, mainly because it was filmed in the area. Scenes at the Palace Theater, Shiftys, and at Sylvan Beach.

For a variety of reasons, from a variety of genres, here is my playlist suggestions while being socially distant over the

Leon the Professional - amazing performances
The Thin Man - B&W old school comedy mystery
Fantastic Mr Fox - love Wes Anderson
They Live - great B sci-fi movie
Monsoon Wedding - Stunning
Firefly series, then Serenity - Joss Whedon rules!
Shaun of the Dead - Edgar Wright rules!
Or any other movie directed by Edgar Wright
The Sting - Best big con movie ever
Grandma’s Boy - guilty pleasure

One of the best movies of the last decade that is so incredibly rewatchable is Whiplash. Some of the best acting in the 21st Century. A modern classic.
Have you seen the original? By the same director?

I'll probably re-watch any of a number of films i've already seen umpteen times:
To Catch a Thief
Lost In Translation
Midnight in Paris
The Royal Tenenbaums
American Hustle
Swimming Pool
The Good Thief

Worked on this in amazing film in Malaysia

Revenge of the Pontianak | Netflix

Did a couple days on dolly for these series

Key Grip on this movie shot in an old gas station in LaGrange, NY off the Taconic Parkway

Yes and many more Syracuse area shot films are coming out this year, (I hope)

Are you saying he was good? I find the comedian to serious actor transition fascinating. Robin Williams, numerous times, but Jim Carey in the Truman Show and Will Ferrell in Stranger than Fiction were really good, IMO.
Jim Carey's serious role in The Majestic was even better. Check it out if you haven't seen it already.

Best movie about life, death, tragedy and redemption in Central New York is Brother's Keeper (1992)

A couple that I'll surely be watching:
Silver Linings Playbook
Stalag 17
Gettysburg
The Magnificent Seven (original and remake)
The Equalizer (TV show and movies)
Bullit
The Great Escape
Band of Brothers
Guns of Navarone
Force 10 From Navarone

Distant Voices, Still Lives
A History of Violence
The Commitments
Eternal Sun of the Spotless Mind
Cinema Paradiso
Missing
The Killing Fields
My Name is Joe
Mystery Train
Land of Mine
At Close Range
