Nait has been far from great

What is going on? I know he was sick last game, but this has been almost the entire season now. He’s a bottom half of the ACC pg, even if he were to get a touch better. I don’t even know if we can call him a pg anymore. And our bar is not set high. We just want serviceable…

I wish I could go back and grab the stats from before last night's atrocity, but before last night's game, basically every stat, advanced metric, etc., showed George playing at the same level this season as he did his first two seasons for Georgia Tech. He's never been an efficient scorer or a volume scorer. The difference is he generally made his mid-range jumpers at Georgia Tech and struggled everywhere else, whereas for us, he's been efficient in the paint and struggled everywhere else.

He is what he is. He's a good passer, which we desperately need, and he'll push the fast break when he can, which we also desperately need, but he's never been a good scorer. Obviously this past handful of games has been an outlier though; even as a relatively bad and low volume scorer, you still expect more than the 2.4 points he's averaging over the last 5 games lol, but expecting much more than 10 is just not going to happen.

Bottom line is everyone thought we were getting a stellar PG to finally take things to the next level. Our PG play has been absolute trash for what seems to be an eternity. So frustrating to see that essentially nothing has changed in that regard. Man I miss the days of Johnny Flynn!!

George is underperforming. I have hopes it will click after ten games, but when you have all summer and the fall to get to know teammates, any “whole new system” stuff is ridiculous. I don’t think he’s the hoop version of Rickie Collins given his prior success at Tech, but he’s looking like an expensive miss to date.

I feel bad for George. He gets trapped all the time and there's no movement on offense. As I noted in another thread, the Dream Team wouldn't look good in Red's offense. Suddenly George and Kingz forgot how to play basketball, hmm.

It's getting old listening to different analysts mention how we have no movement and too much iso on offense. Who's to blame for that???

During the Alabama game last night they kept talking about their "perpetual motion" offense and it was just awful. Awful. Awful.

The "no motion" offense we employ at Syracuse requires so much more discipline!

Getting a bunch of 18-22 year old men to stand still that much during a basketball game takes REAL coaching. LGO!!!!

I really don’t know what you guys expect to happen? His numbers are really close to his numbers from last year. You are expecting something different than the player we are actually getting. He is making about 1 three pointer less a game and 1 assist and 1 rebound less per game otherwise stats look pretty close to what he put up last year. Those counting stats could be less because he is playing about 6 minutes less a game.

You guys expected a mid tier ACC PG to come here and be anything less than a mid tier PG is on you.

Gotta put the right guy in the right system. I don’t think Allen Iverson would thrive in this offense.
wait what GIF

Last year he improved down the stretch and played well against good competition. His power conference numbers were better than his numbers against cupcakes. This year he has not.

His numbers aren’t close to last year. All notably down across the board. But to your credit, you were never high on him. I bought in based on limited action and him leading the ACC in minutes and assists. So either Stoudamire is a genius with the talent he has or Red can’t coach it. I sense it’s closer to the latter than the former.

So he's making over $2M this year?

How is that even possible? I won't make $2M in 15 years, and I have two kids, a mortgage, and a bunch of bills to pay. This kid is making $2M for being a mediocre point guard on a team that's a borderline NIT candidate.

Wild what college athletics has turned into. And quite a travesty, in my opinion. How can you justify this?

He’s not making $2 million.
