NBA 2017-2018 thread

That's a great vid but those have to be some of the dumbest people.

Why the hell would Klay Thompson be out in full uniform holding a basketball?
Never mind that he's clearly too fat.

Over the summer I saw someone who was the spitting image of Kevin Durant. So much so that I had to approach him and mention it. He said he gets it all the time and people want photos and autographs. The dude was tall by average standards, maybe 6'2", but was very clearly not Kevin Durant.

The road may be lined with broken bones and torn ligaments, but I see a path to the playoffs for the NYK!!!!

Let's Go Knicks!!!

Yeee-haaaa!!!!

Mike Gorman is saying it’s a clean break with no ligament or blood vessel damage.
Out 4 to 6 months.

Huge for Hayward.
I know you have high expectations for the Celtics, even without Hayward. I thought with Hayward they would have chemistry issues since he is really much more productive with the ball in his hands. Without him, after watching bits and pieces of their first two games, I think the C's will struggle defensively in a lot of games. Especially against teams more physical then they are. Not saying they won't win 50 games, but they could be 1-5 before they have three games vs Western Conference teams.

I saw this on Reddit earlier and it cracked me up so much. It's so hypnotic. I vaguely remember something like this happening with the Warriors at one point last year; maybe all of them clapping their hands at the same exact time or something like that.

I don't think they can win 50 without Hayward, I think they were gonna be right around there with him.

My expectations were ECF. Now they are second round.

Celtics will be fine this year. Defensively? They are fine.

Cleveland scored 102.
Milwaukee scores 108.

Celtics were on a back to back last night.
Bucks were good in the 4th. Giannis was unguardable and the refs fouled out Brown on a questionable callx

Celtics will still finish top 5 in the east. The west I could careless aboit.
Jaylen Brown looks like a future All-Star and Tatum looks like a player.

With Hayward they would have given Cleveland a series and lost.

If LeBron goes west next year Boston will be a favorite in the East next year.

Kyrie wanted out of Cleveland because, he told the Cavs owner, he wanted to be "the focal point of a franchise." He now has his wish.

And then some. He looked very distraught when the injury happened though.

Celtics need a month to gel and then they'll quickly become contenders.

Full faith that Kyrie will figure his role out and that Jaylon Brown will lead this team to another 1st place run.

The east is bad, but the Knicks are a mess, lets not get nuts.

Ok, who are your Eastern Conference All-Star reps right now?

I've got:

Lebron
Kevin Love's fat @ss
Kyrie Irving
Wade because nobody has any idea who to vote for
Kemba, I guess
What the Hell, Dwight Howard
Waiters
Giannis (whoops, had Dragic on here when I meant Giannis)
Whiteside
Kristaps Drago
Ben Simmons
Lowry
DeRozan

Surely Joaquin Noah and Tim Hardaway Jr need to be on there.

I mean the Knicks needed to keep those players/contracts and trade Melo because they're so awesome and the future!!

Right??...

After seeing your preseason prediction of the Giants winning the Super Bowl, I feel much better now of the Knicks chances to get a high draft pick. Oh, and please don’t predict the Mets to win the World Series next March. I’d like to have some hope. Thanks.

The East isn't lost. That's a formidable starting 5.

Hate to break it to you, but part of being a Mets fan...is that there is no hope.

Is it? How many of those guys crack the west 5? Lebron and that's it. Unless Freak goes supernova, he ain't passing Kawhi/Durant. There are at least 4 guards in the west better than any of those guards (Steph/Harden/Russ/Paul)

Is the Brown Jaylen or am I blanking on someone? Seems a little premature. But then again, the east...

I bet John Wall could shut down Curry. Has already shut down Harden. The West is all fireworks. I'm not a John Wall fan but that dude has a lot more grit than anyone in the west.

Curry hits the ridiculous shots but I don't think he matches up well with Wall without Thompson/Green/Durant/Livingston/Iguodala etc. etc.

I love Wall, but he simply is not on the same tier as Curry, Harden, and CP3 (unless he's lost a step this year, which is entirely possible). A strong case could be made that Curry is the 2nd best player in the NBA. Wall's closer to the 10-15 range.

I forgot about Wall. He'll be there.

Doesn't move the needle though.

So you don't think Steph Curry is better than John Wall? ok.

Steph makes the guys on the Warriors look better than they are, not the other way around.

Wall went 0 for his last 11 in game 7 last year. He’s very good, but not THAT good. Curry’s better. Shooting wins in today’s NBA.
