NBA 2018-2019

I'm completely fine with the rules, but the shooting has become so good I really think they need to push the line out at the top of the key to 25 feet. It's one thing to have Curry and Kyrie dominating, it's another to have all these 4/5"s shooting 3's as half their attempts.

I think removing the corner 3 from existence would help too.

On a sidenote, I've been thinking about this for a little while; this wouldn't help the issue of decreasing 3 point numbers, but I've seen a lot of complaints about small-ball in general and how the focus on 3 pointers/spacing the floor is a bad thing and that people wish traditional big men were still used. I don't really agree with that personally, but I thought this was kind of an interesting thought experiment. What would reduce the use the small-ball 5's more? Extending the 3 point line further out to the point the %'s might be low enough that teams would go back to having actual big men? Or moving the 3 point line IN, which would probably drag players closer to the rim and make it more forgiving to have a slower big man on the floor?

Rachel Nichols is a snake.

To be fair, she didn't even bring this up until after ESPN had come under fire for NOT bringing it up. Several other media outlets had already said basically the same thing.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it's definitely complicated in the current climate. I'm sure there was probably pressure on her to say something to this effect, especially with the appeal coming up in two weeks.

Meanwhile they hype up “The Detail” featuring Kobe and Peyton Manning.

Next time Big Ben throws 4 TDs, what are they gonna talk about?

Oh geez, Walton under fire now.

I couldn't handle rooting for LeBron.

LeBron not exactly bringing it on defense.

Walton needs to figure out the rotations. All the same, we knew that going in. The slow start is not a surprise whatsoever.

*Im not sold on Walton whatsoever. Just, this is predictable and kindve lame.

No worries, you can look forward to Lue becoming coach soon.

Here you go Luke:
PG: Ball - 28, Rondo 20
SG: Hart - 30, Ingram - 8, Lance -10
SF: Ingram- 25, Kuzma- 19, Lance - 4
PF: James - 33, Kuzma - 10
C: McGee - 32, Williams - 16(or find somebody better - stop the small ball though)

Minutes don’t have to be at those “positions”, just accounting for 48 minutes at each of the 5 spots.

Rachel Nichols is a snake.

OMG that was Nichols using all the good just to give her cover to go over the fact she wanted to attack Rose for that trial.
You don’t have to like Rose but that is a scummy way to do that. She is so full of herself.

Lakers are so unremarkable and bland
They’re somehow more boring with lebron

Yeah if the Lakers aren’t going to contend it wouldn’t be the worse thing for LeBron “ to get hurt” aka keep the body healthy for next year and get as high a pick they could to use as trade bait.
LeBron should be used as little as possible this year.

I’m not even worried. We’re winning 50.

However nobody is truly contending except for GS, in the West.

Lakers getting ready to hire Ty Lue?

Walton did just fine with Steph and Klay.

I guess it’s his fault Ingram is an idiot, Lebron hasn’t gave his all and Magic went and signed a bunch of has beens.

The rumor is that the guys that are post-2009 or so (maybe even a bit earlier) like LeBron but don’t want to play with LeBron and all that comes with it.

And this stuff with Walton and Lue being available is just this type of stuff. Bron is an all-timer, but it at least appears that it always has to be his way (even if it isn’t).

I really wonder who they’ll get via trade or FA.

With that said, Ant Davis signing with Rich Paul probably isn’t a bad thing.

Yeah there’s a reason Kyrie wanted out of Cleveland and it wasn’t just because LeBron was leaving in a year.

Could you imagine him playing for Pop or Brad Stevens? I can’t.

Maybe making the lane more narrow? They widened it out in the first place to make Wilt less dominant.

Moving the 3 point line back for sure. The 3 is just too valuable.

Always thought he may play for Pop when he got towards the end of his career considering how much Pop is willing to do limited minutes and give players nights off. Plus I think Pop might be the only coach Bron would truly buy into.

Nice night for Melo, with 28 points. 6-9 from 3.

Jerami Grant with 18 points on 7-8 shooting so far as well.

SU forwards are 16-20 from the field for 46 points. How’s that for efficiency?

Finished with 22.

Melo had 28.

I know a lot of people think he’s done, but hopefully he can settle into his role once Harden is healthy.

He’s had 20+ in 3 of the last 4 games. Hit 6 3’s in two of those games.

He’s diminished to where he’s not going to score 20+ even on bad nights by getting to the hole or the line anymore. But if he’s shooting well? CP3 is so much better than Westbrook at setting him up.

We’ll see with Harden. He’s more in the Westbrook mold where he can pass, but it’s when his scoring option is cut off. He doesn’t actively look to set his shooters up like Paul does. I’m hoping most of Melo’s minutes come with Paul in.

I should add that Melo was really working hard defensively when I was watching last night.

Brooklyn was trying to get him to switch onto their quicker guys who can make plays off the dribble. Melo was battling and for the most part holding his own against quicker players, I thought. You could tell Houston was absolutely desperate for a win. We’ll see if they can hold up in a back to back game today.

He should consult Urban Meyer and Coach K for advice.
