NBA 2018-2019

What do you hate about it though? Overpay?

I think he matches REALLY well with what the Jazz need and is worth the $. Underrated part of the deal is it sounds like he took low enough that the Jazz can keep some of the end of bench guys they like that over the course of the season give them decent minutes like Neto and Niang.

I mean, the Jazz have a dominant defensive force at the 5 and they've never realistically attempted a 4 out 1 in offense. Now they're going to put shooters all around the guy that set an NBA record for dunks last season. Donovan Mitchell at 36% from 3 now has the lowest 3pt % of their closing lineup. That's pretty cool.
4 years at that price.
I don’t blame Utah at all. He is probably the biggest FA they have gotten in years and the team is competitive.
I just think it’s a bad contract at the end.

Ingles and Bogdanovic with the nickname The Splash Uncles is worth the $$$ imho.

Oh, for sure... but NY is Knicks town. Nets could win the Championship and people would still be showing up in higher demand at MSG for the Barrett/Randle show.
Everyone has their breaking point at some point you will see people jump ship.

This is the first move so far that I don’t agree with. Hopefully last year is non-guaranteed in the very least but I would have much rather just let him walk for that money.

Think this means we’re waiving Leuer as well.

Plus what should be a pretty unstoppable pick and roll.

I don’t think the Randle signing was bad. You’re talking about a young player who can score, rebound, and pass. His jumper(which used to be nonexistent) has improved quite a bit. He can play the 4 or a small ball 5. He’s an awfully tough matchup against a lot of teams. Quick enough to beat a lot of big and strong players off the dribble, and strong enough to bully quicker players around the rim. Can handle it and pass for big guy. I like him.

True. I think deep down everyone should’ve known the way that would go though. Every few years the stories start about how they’re going to sign a superteam and they always strike out.

I know he’s not Zion who they had their hearts set on, but Barrett has a chance to be a superstar too.

Which is more unbalanced hope from the fans than anything

When have they done anything lately that would imply successful roster management?

And now, SAS is not aligned with what Ricky Davis said:

The Lakers are trying to get a meeting with Butler. Seems odd if Leonard is a done deal. Maybe SAS is right.

Kyrie has been proven to be a team chemistry killer, especially when it comes to young players... he’s done it on two teams. I’m also not sure whether the difference between him and ds3 is large enough for all that money.

I love KD and think he was the best player in the league... but he’s going to be two years on the wrong side of thirty and coming of an Achilles when he plays again. Huge risk in my opinion. I also am glad they dumped Porzingis... he is a stat getter who doesn’t seem to win games. I’m really curious to see how he ends up.

Unfortunately this means the Knicks are going to be bad for a few more years... I don’t see any easy fixes. I think Barrett, Knox and Robinson are a good start but don’t see any elite talent there.

Biggest need is a true point and some bench dudes to play D. I like the Randle addition as he can offer some easy buckets that aren’t jumpers. Smith, Trier, Knox and Barrett give them more than enough offense. There is no floor leader or really a team leader, Nitlikina might develop into one but right now it’s all potential and he seems farther from realizing it than when he got drafted.

The biggest issue is I’m not sold on Fizdale as a head coach... he is a terrible game day coach and I don’t see any semblance of a system. You put Budzenholder, whom the Knicks said no to, on the sidelines and this team is much much closer to competing. I think there is talent but they have the wrong dude on the bench trying to develop it into a winning team.
