NBA 2018-2019

Maybe I’ll eat my words later, but I’m really not scared of that Philly lineup unless Simmons improves a ton.

4 of their 5 starters are best suited at PF or C.

Ha. That is true.

Though Horford can shoot it and pass. And Embiid and Simmons are both unique players.

I don’t know how it will blend, but I’m intrigued.

Horford plays really well in the playoffs.
He is good in the bigger games.
His problem is he has a lot of games of 9 points and 7 rebounds in the regular season.

Good spot for him in Philly. He won’t need the ball and he will guard all the guys Embiid won’t want too.

Philly has Simmons/Richardson/Harris/Horford/
Embiid closing lineup.

True. I think deep down everyone should’ve known the way that would go though. Every few years the stories start about how they’re going to sign a superteam and they always strike out.

I know he’s not Zion who they had their hearts set on, but Barrett has a chance to be a superstar too.
Not for nothing but the only time a superstar came to NY, Knicks fans acted like spoiled brats when he couldn’t win with a supporting cast of guys like Injured Amare, Tyson Chandler, Chauncey Billups Jose Calderon and Pablo Prigioni...and those were some of the better players.

Dragic is going to the Mavericks in the Butler to Miami and Richardson to Philadelphia deal.

I thought it seemed like most were behind Melo for most of his time there. You’re always going to have some idiots, especially in such a large fanbase.

It felt to me like Phil Jackson came in to steal money and had to get the heat off the crappy job he was doing, so he set out to turn the narrative against Melo shortly after he resigned there in ‘14.

The Phily lineup could be insane defensively. The shooting could be a bit of an issue.

Yeah the people were for sure behind Melo for the most part. By the time the tide had turned on him, he wasn't the same level of player anyway.

Is it possible Kawhi doesn't know free agency has started?

Probably a pretty accurate timeline. Agreed.

With Butler to Miami.
It’s gotta be Lakers for Kawhi.
Clippers have whiffed thus far and I don’t see Kawhi going there with that roster.

Kawhi seems like a different cat it wouldn't shock me if he went to the Clippers.

Why not? They'll just keep Gallinari, re-sign Beverley, and still have cap room to add someone like Taj Gibson. Then they'll be in the mix for a max player in 2020. The supporting cast is solid.
Gibson signed with the Knicks.

The Clippers needed a second star to get Kawhi. I don’t get why they didn’t go hard after Butler.

Trueblue, Boston media is saying Horford would have stayed if Boston ponied up. They wouldn’t give more than 4-80 for Al and Philadelphia guaranteed him 97 million and 12 more in bonuses for winning a championship.

Ah, I was already in the middle of deleting and re-writing my post to include Green.

Butler was Plan B after Durant and they were only interested in Butler and Leonard as a package. Ran out of time.

Free Agency class next year looks to be real weak though.

I had to take a break so I missed a few pages, but I would like to talk about the Bucks. I know it's a lot of money for Brogdon, but am I wrong to really not like this for them? He was either their second or third best (probably third) player and this is a team that should be trying to win a title. I dunno.
