Wasn't the original plan all along for Kawhi to visit with both LA teams first and Toronto last? I don't believe for a second anyone knows what the official decision is yet. Maybe he goes to the Lakers, but this is being fed through their camp.

Vegas has lowered the NBA title odds to Lakers even money.
While it’s not official Vegas typically has a clue. The Clippers aren’t getting him likely as their odds haven’t moved and the Raptors odds were already lower.

If he does the NBA needs to change it's cap rules. I really want the NBA to end Max contracts. It's creating a price ceiling for it's best players and makes this crap possible.

NBA GMs are so stupid and reckless in their spending that is why max contracts were instituted. Contracts used to be up to 6 years in length but again because teams spent stupidly the length was reduced to 5 years for incumbent teams and 4 years for new teams.

The NBA encourages player movement due to how stupid and undisciplined teams spend money on FAs.

The NFL needs to get rid of the franchise tag. The NBA is the sport that desperately needs a franchise tag.
If players got a 20% bump each year on a franchise tag salary it could work.

Interesting - I think the comparison though is Kawhi vs LBJ Miami, LBJ Lakers vs Wade and Davis who is clearly better than Bosh. The big issue the Lakers will face in this is LBJ's ego. He will be the 3rd best player on the team.

It's just weird to me that Kawhi is both the 3rd guy and dude being added, and the best player.

I think Sam Amick has a recent article where he said LeBron’s pitch to Kawhi was that his biggest priority is extending his career so he can play with Bronnie and that he just wants to win. He knows the best path to accomplish both is to take a step back and play the role of facilitator to Kawhi and AD. After his ring in Cleveland he doesn’t really care about outside noise and proving anything to anybody.

I think it would be fun to see him play a Magic type role and really unleash his passing skill set.
