It’s Lakers now or Philly/Boston in the summer.

Boston can give up one of Smart/Rozier, Tatum/Brown, Horford’s contract and Sacramento and Memphis picks.

Don't see how anyone is beating Smart, Tatum and those 2 picks unless the Knicks gave Porzingis and Knox or their pick which I can't imagine is likely.

I've seen plenty of writers and basketball people on twitter say it all day and Chris Haynes just said in his column that sources say Boston isn't a top target for him partly because they are uncertain if Kyrie resigns. If he was interested in Boston if Kyrie stayed he would just wait until this summer to see what Kyrie does, but he isn't and is asking to be traded now.

Him asking to be traded now knowing Boston can't trade for him is a pretty loud statement on if Boston is really where he wants to go.

the problem is the clips are in a push for the playoffs right now and this trade makes them worse in the short term, pushing them into the lottery (which saves the draft pick that would otherwise convey to boston). but by trading for ad, they keep cap space to sign kawhi in the summer. kawhi/ad/patrick beverly would be the best defensive trio in the association

plus you get the added bonus of boning the entitled lakers organization & fans out of another generational new orleans player

The Lakers offer for CP3 was more than fair. Stern really stuck it to us and gave us 5 years of misery.

Harris is a FA after the season. Thats a 3 quarters for a dollar offer.

No billion dollar corporation is being forced to make a decade altering decision in a week. All parties must be quite aware of that. Especially when the suitor with the most ammo can't join the festivities until July 1st.

Pretty sure that's an impossibility. They already have to get rid of contracts to fit in 1 max but then they're gonna open up another $30m+? Not happening.

Knicks have 39 million in cap space they don’t have to trade dollar for dollar in a trade.
They just need a package that would be acceptable for a trade.
Porzingis wouldn’t likely interest New Orleans but if the Knicks flipped Porzingis for something and included their own pick that would likely get them in Davis sweepstakes.

I like Zion and think he will be a really good pro, but I doubt he ever reaches the level of Anthony Davis. There are two players all time with a higher career PER than Davis: Michael Jordan and Lebron James. I think that's worth a top 5 pick.

I don't think the Knicks will sell the farm for AD but that is what it would take but this is the Lakers who are on the clock the next 7 days. If the Knicks don't want to give up their #1, it will most likely take Knox/KP/Frankie and probably 1 more Courtney or Ennis. Anybody who is serious about acquiring AD does not want it getting to Boston.

Guys like AD don't come up on the trading block very often and he's 25 years old. Probably 3rd best player in the league right now. Kawahi had the question mark of the injury which was a bit of a drawback but AD is a notch above KL.

Pelicans have 5 months to make a great deal.

I would tend to agree, but Haynes is saying that there's a growing feeling around the league that Kyrie will leave despite what he's publicly said
