NBA 2018-2019

Houston got wrecked by drugs. They were an up and coming team when they hit the 1986 Finals.

KG might be a better comparison, but he still needed to go find Pierce, Rondo and Ray to win.

Not saying AD is bad. Far from it. Dude is a HoFer. Just saying, the guy isn't playing with the Atlanta Hawks roster.

True. But regardless of the reason, Houston didn’t have a lot around Hakeem for a good chunk of his prime, and they weren’t doing much.

That’s what I meant with KG...when he had help. The one year in Minnesota that they gave him some help with Sprewell and Cassell, they did well.

I struggle a little bit with this; because there is a lot of truth to that. Based on the numbers, eye test, etc, Davis is a complete monster, a trade whatever you have to to get on your team kind of guy. But then it's like, I get the supporting cast has generally been awful, but they should be a little better than they have been, right? At the end of the day I still think the dude is an absolute great player, but it does give me a little pause.

As for the draft, I am all in on Zion, and kinda lukewarm on Barrett. Morant could be something. But I think Zion is going to be a legit great player. Will be disappointed when we don't get him.

It is crazy to think how much is gonna change this summer; really, all it takes is Durant leaving GS to made the title race totally wide open for the first time in like 5 years.

Unrelated; but I went to the Knicks-Mavs game last night. Really glad Dirk hit some shots, good way for him to go out in MSG if it ends up that way.

What happens if they end up with the 4th pick and Kawhi, KD, Klay and Kyrie all re-sign which all are probably over 50/50. Would be a damn nightmare. End up paying a billion dollars for Tobias Harris or something ridiculous.

I want to see Tobias Harris on the Jazz. He'd be a great fit there.

Lakers and Pelicans have reportedly had trade talks, with the Lakers submitting 5 different proposals to the Pelicans. Pelicans are still deciding on which if any of them they might be interested in.

Woj also reporting that tension is building between the Knicks and Porzingis as Porzingis has been unhappy with how often he's appeared in trade rumors, the Knicks' losing ways, and the dysfunction that has plagued the franchise in the past. Says the tension could culminate in a trade either before the deadline or in the offseason.

Edit: One offer the Lakers have submitted is reportedly Kuzma, Lonzo, Ingram, Zubac, and a first round pick.

Wow, now Woj reporting Knicks expected to commence discussions on moving KP ahead of Thursdy's trade deadline.

I'd love to see AD head to the Knicks and then potentially pair with Zion and KD or Kyrie in MSG.

The curse of Dolan. Knicks will continue to go nowhere so long as he owns the franchise.

Would love to see:

Knicks: KD and AD

Brooklyn: Kyrie and Butler

Toronto: Lawrie and Kawhi

Boston: Kemba/Dame and Tatum or Brown

I was wondering the same thing to be honest. KP would be cheaper than AD, or even be a chip for AD in the future though I don't know all the rules around that, and help ease up the log jam they have at the wing. Horford and KP complement each other well too. Kyrie, Hayward, Tatum, KP, Horford, Smart, Morris and their bigs is a pretty good group to take into the playoffs.

Will be interesting to see how or if the KP trade impacts New Orleans plan with AD.

Woj/Zach Lowe reporting that Brooklyn, Miami, LA Clippers, Toronto, and especially San Antonio are expected to pursue Porzingis. Zach Lowe stressed to keep an extra eye on San Antonio.

Porzingis to Dallas.
For Dennis Smith Jr.

The deal also includes Hardaway Jr to Dallas and Wes Matthews and DeAndre Jordan to NYK.

Wow NY sold low.

Porzingis, Hardaway and Courtney Lee to Dallas for Dennis Smith, DeAndre Jordan, and Wes Matthews. Holy hell.

Knicks offseason is about to be ing wild

The Knicks would be foolish to trade KP at this point. Stop being morons and pissing off your good players on the rare occasions you have them, and patch it up. IMO.

Knicks gave Porzingis away for cap space.
That is just insane unless they have Durant lined up.

If they don’t win the lottery how the hell do they get FAs.

Either KP's knee is shredded and way worse than reported or they have a deal in principle with KD already and likely one other star (looking at you Kyrie). I'm guessing the latter.

As I mentioned earlier today, people are saying they already know Durant is coming. Now they can potentially bring in two other max guys with him.

It’s probably going to hurt them in the tanking race too.

I think this makes them slightly better in the short term.

LOL.

So how much cap space will the Knicks have this offseason after the $41.5M come off the books from Jordan and Matthews now?

Does this take them out as a landing spot for any hope of Kyrie by bringing in Smith Jr.?

More likely Jimmy Butler is leaving Philadelphia than Kyrie is leaving Boston.
Maybe Uncle Dennis will take Kawhi to New York.
Kevin Durant to NYK doesn’t really make sense but we will see.

This is it for me. After this offseason, when no one worth a damn signs with the Knicks because of the sh!tshow of an organization they are, I am done. Won't be back until Dolan sells the team or dies, and even then, I can't guarantee I'll be back.

I don't know about Jimmy. They have Knox, have to be getting KD and TBD draft pick.

I guess Jimmy can fit with some moves, but they need to fill in at PG and I would think Kyrie would be the target for star #2.
